Hotstar is India's leading video streaming app and the home of Indian entertainment and LIVE cricket!  You can enjoy unlimited and exclusive access to LIVE Cricket, Star India TV shows (Star Vijay, Star Plus and more), blockbuster movies and Hotstar Specials (original series and movies).

How can I get Hotstar on StarHub?

Existing and new StarHub customers will be able to enjoy Hotstar on us with the following plans:

For TV+ and HomeHub+: New/recon Indian+ customers with Indian+ at $15/month 24-month contract or Indian+ at $25/month 12-month contract are eligible to enjoy Hotstar on us for the duration of their contract and save up to $139.96.


For Broadband: New/Recon customers with 1Gbps at $45.90/month, 2Gbps at $62.90/month or Turbo Gamer plans can get Hotstar on us for 3 months with a 12-month contract and save up to $17.50.


For Mobile: New/Recon customers on Mobile+ 2-year plans or 4G SIM Only 1-year plans get Hotstar on us for 3 months with a 12-month contract and save up to $17.50.


Additionally, customers can add Hotstar as a Value-Added Service at just $5.83/month and get Hotstar on us for 3 months with a 12-month contract and save up to $17.50.

How do I activate my Hotstar account?

You can activate your Hotstar account via My StarHub App once you have subscribed to one of the eligible services. Refer to our step-by-step activation guide here.

When will my access period for Hotstar start?

Your Hotstar access period will start when you have subscribed to one of the eligible services.

How do I access Hotstar via mobile device?

You can download the Hotstar app on Google Play Store or App Store or visit hotstar.com/sg.

How do I access Hotstar on my StarHub TV+ box?

Hotstar is available as a pre-loaded app on your StarHub TV+ box, so no action is needed from you. Do ensure that your StarHub TV+ box has been updated to the latest firmware version (1.2.1). Alternatively, you may check for system update via the following steps: Go to Android TV Settings > Device Preferences > About > System update > Check for update.

Will data charges apply when I stream Hotstar on my mobile devices?

Your data bundle will be deducted/charged accordingly when accessing Hotstar. A friendly tip: use your home Wi-Fi to stream to avoid data bill shock, or you can download your favourite shows onto your mobile devices to watch on-the-go without an Internet connection.

What happens when my Hotstar bundled 12- or 24-months access has ended?

Don’t worry! Your Hotstar bundled access will automatically be removed after the access period has ended.

Will I be charged automatically for Hotstar after the bundled access period if I do not activate my Hotstar access?

Not to worry, you will not be charged for Hotstar after the bundled access period if you did not activate it.

Can I stream the videos on Hotstar when I’m overseas?

The service can only work in Singapore, if you travel outside Singapore you will not be able to access My Account, downloaded content or watch any content.

If I change my mobile number, can I retain my access to Hotstar?

Your Hotstar access will remain, but you will need to contact Hotstar directly to update your mobile number.

Can my account be shared, and can I download the content?

Users will have access to two simultaneous streams and downloads. Please note that Live Sports are not available for downloads.

Can I watch cricket content on Hotstar?

We have a dedicated sports channel (Hub Sports 4) for cricket content. To know more, click here.

What languages will Hotstar be available in?

Besides English, there are up to 7 Indian languages available on Hotstar. You can find out more here. The user interface of the Hotstar app is available in English.

How many devices can I have?

Hotstar subscribers can have up to 10 devices registered, so you can watch on your TV, phone, tablet or desktop. Please note that only two concurrent streams are supported on Hotstar.

Hotstar subscribers alongside the great content will also be able to enjoy the following features:

What’s the difference between subscribing to Hotstar through StarHub and directly with Hotstar via their app?

With StarHub, you can enjoy 3 months of Hotstar on us with Mobile+ and Broadband plans and save up to $17.50. You can also choose to sign up for StarHub Indian+ with a contract and enjoy Hotstar on us (up to 24 months) with savings of up to $139.96. StarHub TV+ is the new StarHub Entertainment experience and if you love watching the top-rated STAR programmes or live cricket events available on Hotstar, we would encourage you to switch over to the new StarHub Indian+ to enjoy Hotstar. There will be no ETC charges if you decide to switch from your current StarHub Entertainment Pass or Basic Tier to our new StarHub TV+ Passes

How do I stop my Hotstar access?

If you're enjoying Hotstar as a complimentary service, your access will stop once you unsubscribe from Indian+ Pass or the complimentary period ends.


If you have Hotstar as an add-on, we encourage you to enjoy it until the contract period ends. Early termination charges will apply if you cancel your subscription before then.

I am currently subscribing to StarHub TV 3 Basic Group / Entertainment Pass plan. How can I get VIVO IPL 2021?

How do I activate my Hotstar access after I have recontracted my StarHub Entertainment Pass?

Fret not, if you have recontracted to StarHub Entertainment Pass at $29.90 for 24 months between 1-7 Apr, you will be receiving an SMS notification to your registered mobile number on the 8 April to activate your 12 months Hotstar access on us. Redeem your Hotstar access before 9 April to enjoy the first opening match of VIVO IPL 2021.

How do I activate my Hotstar access after I am subscribed to Indian+ with a contract?

You can activate your Hotstar account via My StarHub App in a few simple steps:


Step 1: Click on the link that was sent to you via SMS/Email.

Step 2: Key in your registered mobile number that has been subscribed with Indian+ and accept StarHub and Hotstar Terms & Conditions

What happens to my Hotstar access after my StarHub Indian+ contract ends?

Your Hotstar access will end after your StarHub Indian+ contract ends. You can activate your Hotstar access again once you have recontracted to the Indian+ with a contract.

What will happen to my Hotstar access if my TV+ service is suspended?

Your Hotstar access will be paused. You can activate your Hotstar access again once your TV+ service is reinstated.

What will happen to my Hotstar access if my TV+ service is terminated?

Unfortunately, your Hotstar access with StarHub will be terminated as well. You may subscribe to Hotstar directly to continue enjoying the service here.

Why can't 3 Basic Group / StarHub Entertainment customers sign up for Hotstar add-on VAS?

The Hotstar on us promotion is only available with Indian+ subscription with a contract. Can I unsubscribe my Hotstar subscription during the commitment period?

There will be an early termination charge if you unsubscribe your Hotstar subscription during the commitment period. We hope you will continue with the Hotstar subscription, however; if you would still like to unsubscribe, you can do so via our customer service hotline 1633.


Do note that an early termination charge (ETC) will be incurred based on the remaining contractual period multiplied by the monthly recurring charges of the Hotstar subscription terminated.

I am an existing 1Gbps/2Gbps StarHub Fibre Broadband on 24 months contract, do I get to enjoy 3 months Hotstar access as well?

The promotion to enjoy 3 months Hotstar access on us is only available to customers who sign up or recontract to 1Gbps/2Gbps Fibre Broadband, and commit to a 12-month Hotstar subscription period.

How do I activate my Hotstar access after I am subscribed to StarHub Fibre Broadband?

You will receive an SMS or email based on your account contact information within 24 hours of successful activation. You will need to log on to My StarHub App to register with a valid mobile number within 30 days to access Hotstar. Customers are encouraged to update to the latest version of My StarHub App if you have not done so.


You may now activate your Hotstar access in these few simple steps:

Step 1: Click on the deep-link that was sent via SMS/Email

Step 2: Key in your valid mobile number

Step 3: Enter the verification code for confirmation that was sent to your mobile

Activate your Hotstar access in 5 simple steps:


Step 1: You will receive a nSMS to activate the offer via My StarHub App. Ensure that the app is the latest version.

Step 2: Launch My StarHub App and click “Lifestyle” on the home page.

Step 3: Select “Hotstar” and click “Manage”.

Step 4: Click “Subscribe now” and you will be re-directed to Hotstar webpage for further instructions on how to sign up.

Step 5: Click “Sign up now” to access Hotstar authentication page. Sign in or create a new Hotstar account and you’re done!
