Why has StarHub ceased JUMPhone?

As part of our ongoing efforts to simplify and streamline our offerings,  we will be discontinuing JUMPhone with effect from 13 March 2021.

If you are subscribed to JUMPhone currently, you can choose to stay on JUMPhone or refer to Qn 2 below for other options.

However, we encourage you to recontract to our Mobile+ plan that comes with FREE entertainment, a huge bundled data, more outgoing talktime, SMS and FREE Caller Number Display for 24 months.

You can also experience hyper fast streaming and lag-free gaming with our suite of entertainment services, available on our Mobile+ plans:

  • Stream your favourite movies, exclusive Disney+ Originals and more with 12 months of Disney+ on us
  • Play 1,000s of classic games with 1-month free access to Antstream

I have an existing JUMPhone plan, what do I do with it?

You may continue to stay on your JUMPhone plan or choose to:

  • Return your phone in good working condition after 12 months from the date you subscribed to JUMPhone. For a nominal fee, you can also upgrade to our Mobile+ plans and purchase a new phone.
  • Pay and own the phone. 
  • Complete 24 months of JUMPhone and return the phone in good working condition or continue with the monthly instalment for the next 6 months and the phone will be yours.

What is JUMPhone?

JUMphone is the easiest way of getting a new phone every year at a low monthly fee.

With JUMPhone, you’ll enjoy:

  • Latest phone every year at $0 upfront cost.
  • Worry-free device care with device replacement & swap
  • All you need to do is to return the phone in good working condition after 12 months and get a new swanky phone for a nominal fee. You also have the option to own the phone at any time.

To get started, sign up to a 4G SIM Only plan and choose the phone you want at $0 upfront. Next, just pay for the phone in monthly instalments through your StarHub bill.

Who is eligible to sign up for JUMPhone?

JUMPhone is available to selected new and existing StarHub customers. New StarHub customers will be required to provide past 3 months of mobile bills in hardcopy for verification. To enquire about your eligibility, head down to any StarHub Shop and let our friendly sales consultants assist you.

How is JUMPhone different from buying a phone with a 2-year plan?

With JUMPhone, we guarantee an attractive immediate upfront savings. You’ll pay for the phone in affordable monthly instalments and can jump to a brand new phone every 12 months with a nominal fee!

To get a new phone, all you need to do is

  • Complete 12 months of the JUMPhone instalment contract; and
  • Return the current mobile device in good working condition or choose to own the device.  

But if you absolutely love the phone and prefer to own it, you can do so anytime!

Is there a contract for JUMPhone?

JUMPhone comes with a 24-month instalment term. If you do not return the phone after 24 months, your instalment plan will be automatically extended for 6 more months.

Example: If the JUMPhone term started on 13 March 2020, you would need to return the mobile device on 13 Mar 2022.

But if you absolutely love the phone and prefer to own it, you can do so anytime!

Is JUMPhone available for all phones?

JUMPhone is only available on selected mobile devices, but we will review the list and expand it overtime. Find out more at www.starhub.com/jumphone.

How do I get a brand new phone every year with JUMPhone?

It’s simple, you just need to return the phone in good working condition after 1 year and get a new swanky phone for a nominal fee.

What does "good working condition" mean?

Your phone needs to be fully functional – can make and receive calls and texts,  has a functioning battery, an intact screen that can be unlocked, able to connect to the internet and is free from physical damage or any missing or disassembled parts.

Can I return the phone and cancel my JUMPhone?

We recommend you stay with us on JUMPhone for 24 months. However, if you prefer to return the phone, we require you to pay the remaining instalment fees. The fees vary, depending on phone models and the outstanding months. Simply log in to My StarHub App for more information.

Can I own the phone instead?

Of course, you have the option to own the phone anytime you want. Simply log in to My StarHub App to find out how much you need to pay to own the phone.

What happens if my phone on JUMPhone is damaged or lost?

Not to worry, JUMPhone comes bundled with FREE worry-free device care by SmartSupport that provides coverage in the event of damage, subject to terms and conditions.

You can contact SmartSupport at toll-free number 800 852 6030 or +65 6822 2255 (while overseas) to make a Service Request for a swap. (Service Fees apply).

What happens if I suspend my mobile service?

You will still be required to pay the monthly JUMPhone instalments during this period.

If the mobile service remains suspended after the minimum suspension period of 6 months, the mobile plan together with your JUMPhone plan will be terminated. With that, we will charge in your next bill under “Pay to Own” terms.

I have completed 24 months of JUMPhone, what’s next?

It’s your choice to 

  • Return the phone in a good working condition and get a brand-new phone at no extra cost!

OR

  • Continue with the monthly instalment for the next 6 months and the phone will be yours.

What if I do not return the mobile device after 30 months of JUMPhone payments?

The phone is now yours and there’s no need for you to return the phone to StarHub.

Why am I still being charged after 24 months?

If you do not return the phone after 24 months, your JUMPhone plan will be extended for another 6 months. After which, the phone is yours!

Alternatively, you can choose to get another brand new phone at no extra cost.

What do I need to do before I return the mobile device on JUMPhone?

Here's a checklist to ensure a smooth process when returning your phone:

1. Ensure that your phone is in good working condition

  • Can make and receive calls and texts
  • Has a functioning battery
  • Has an intact screen that can be unlocked
  • Phone can connect to the internet
  • Phone is free from physical damage or any missing or disassembled parts.

2. Back up all your data

3. Delete your personal/confidential information

4. Perform a factory reset, disable any security features and remove the SIM and memory cards.

Can I return another / different phone?

We’ll require you to return the same phone (with the same IMEI number) that you got from us under JUMPhone.

How do I check the status for JUMPhone?

It’s easy, login to My StarHub App to view your payment term duration. Or refer to your bill statement that is sent to you every month.

Can I experience StarHub’s 5G if I take up JUMPhone?

JUMPhone is currently only available with our 4G SIM Only plans.
