Discontinuation of Remittance Service on StarHub Prepaid App

Why is StarHub no longer offering remittance service?

We are always reviewing our service offers to ensure that we meet the changing lifestyles of our customers. Hence, Send Money and My Rewards on StarHub Prepaid app, and prepaid top up via Pay2Home channels will discontinue with effect from 30 June 2022.

What will happen to My Rewards after 30 June 2022?

My Rewards is a rewards system for customers who make successful remittance transactions on the StarHub Prepaid app. Since we will no longer be offering remittance service, My Rewards will also be discontinued with effect from 30 June 2022. Any balance stamps will be forfeited automatically on 30 June 2022 and there will be no refunds.

I signed up for the Send Money service before and I’ve been getting free 1GB local data when I top up via StarHub Prepaid app or online. Will I still get to enjoy this benefit?

This is an exclusive benefit for customers who signed up for the Send Money service on StarHub Prepaid app previously. This benefit will cease on 30 June 2022 together with the Send Money service.

Will my prepaid services be affected by the discontinuation of the remittance service?

The discontinuation will not affect your prepaid services and you can continue to use SMS, voice, data as usual.

Where can I top up or buy data plans for my prepaid mobile?

You can top up or buy data plans via StarHub Prepaid app. You can also dial *123# or go to StarHub authorized retailers, 7-Eleven, and Cheers.

Can I continue to top up my prepaid mobile via Pay2Home channels?

StarHub Top up services via Pay2Home channels will discontinue with effect from 30 June 2022.

StarHub just launched a new remittance service. What is it?

The new remittance service is provided and processed by our partner, Pay2Home, a specialist money transfer company that offers affordable and reliable remittance services. StarHub Prepaid customers can now send money home to their loved ones in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and more countries on the StarHub Prepaid App! The remittance service is trusted, simple and low-cost.

How safe is Pay2Home?

Not to worry! Pay2Home is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and the remittance service on the StarHub Prepaid App uses dual factor authentication, which is an additional layer of security designed to prevent unauthorised access to safeguard your identity and privacy.

Do I have to be a StarHub Prepaid customer to use the remittance service?

Yes, you will have to be a StarHub Prepaid customer aged 18 or older, with an active mobile voice number and valid Singapore-issued Identity Document in order to access the remittance service on the StarHub Prepaid App. Not a StarHub Prepaid customer? Switch over and enjoy FREE credits, data and talktime on Singapore’s fastest network!

Can I use my StarHub Prepaid credits to pay for my remittance transaction?

Sorry, you are unable to use your StarHub Prepaid credits to pay for your remittance transaction.

How can I use the new remittance service?

It’s easy! Simply launch the StarHub Prepaid App, log in with your StarHub Prepaid number, and create a Pay2Home account to access the new remittance service.


Do ensure that you have an active StarHub Prepaid voice number and a valid Singapore-issued Identity Document. You will also be required to submit your Identification Documents and Proof of Address to Pay2Home.

Which are the approved Identification and Proof of Address Documents that I can submit to register for a Pay2Home account?

Please refer to the table below for the list of approved Identification Documents. Kindly note that if your Identification Document does not include your address, you will be required to submit a Proof of Address document (not older than 3 months) as well.

How is sending money with Pay2Home different from sending money with a bank?

A bank is a generalist financial provider. They provide remittance along with a range of other services. Pay2Home is a money transfer specialist in international payments, offering low remittance fees, better exchange rates, more delivery channels and faster delivery times than the banks! Being fully licensed with the relevant authorities also provides you with the security of knowing that your remittance transaction is safe with Pay2Home.

Are there any deductions in the destination country when using Pay2Home?

Not to worry, there are no in-country deductions (except for Thailand and Europe) when you send money with Pay2Home! The only fee that you will have to pay is the remittance fee, which will be reflected during your remittance transaction.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount that I can send?

The minimum remittance amount is SGD5 and the maximum remittance amount is SGD10,000 for each transfer. The remittance limit is reset daily.


Please note that for payment with NETS or bank card, the maximum amount is capped at the daily withdrawal limit of your NETS or bank card.

How long will it take for my loved ones to receive the money?

Fret not! After payment is made, it usually takes about 1 to 2 working days for the money to be credited to your loved ones’ bank account. For selected destination countries with instant processing, they will receive the money instantly.

What types of delivery service does Pay2Home offer?

Pay2Home offers a variety of delivery services to cater to different needs:

  • Credit to bank account: Your money will be credited directly to an existing bank account in the destination country.
  • Bill payment: Your money will be credited directly to the designated billing organisation.
  • Collection: Your money will be made available for collection through Pay2Home’s collection banks and agents. You will need to specify your beneficiary details and ensure that they produce a valid Identification Document at the point of collection.

How do I create a money transfer?
1. Launch the StarHub Prepaid App and log in with your StarHub Prepaid number.
2. Select ‘Send Money’, followed by ‘My Beneficiaries’.
3. From the list, select the beneficiary who you will like to send money to. If he/she is not in the list, select 'Add Beneficiary'.
4. Enter the amount that you will like to send. Once done, select ‘Continue’.
(Note: If you have a discount coupon available, you may choose to apply it.)
5. Check your transaction summary and select ‘Continue to Payment’.
6. Select your preferred payment method and follow the in-app instructions accordingly.

How do I add new beneficiaries?
1. Launch the StarHub Prepaid App and log in with your StarHub Prepaid number.
2. Select ‘Send Money’, followed by ‘My Beneficiaries’.
3. Select ‘Add Beneficiary’, followed by ‘Destination Country’ and “Service Type’.
4. Enter your beneficiary details and select 'Next'.
5. Enter the OTP code that is sent via SMS to your StarHub Prepaid number.
6. Select 'Verify' and your beneficiary will be added.

When do I have to pay for my remittance transaction?

We urge you to make the payment for your remittance transaction as soon as possible. Once you have initiated the remittance request on the StarHub Prepaid App, your transaction will be cancelled if payment is not completed before 12pm on the following day.

How can I track my money transfer?

Launch the StarHub Prepaid App and log in with your StarHub Prepaid number. Select ‘Send Money’, followed by ‘My Transactions’ to track the status of your remittance transactions in real-time.

Can I amend or cancel my remittance transaction?
