When and how much will the TV+ Box rental be adjusted?

There will be a price adjustment for the TV+ box rental from $5 per month to $5.90 per month (inclusive of GST), with effect from on 1 July 2022.

Why is StarHub adjusting the TV+ Box rental price?

The price adjustment of StarHub TV+ box is due to rising operational costs and will take effect from 1 July 2022.

I am a TV+ customer, how will I be affected by these changes?

If you are a TV+ customer that is still under an existing contract, your TV+ box rental will be revised from $5 per month to $5.90 per month (inclusive of GST) only when your TV+ contract has ended. The revised rental charge will be reflected in your bill, after your contract has expired.


If you are a TV+ customer that is no longer under an existing contract, your TV+ box rental will be revised from $5 per month to $5.90 per month (inclusive of GST). The revised rental charge will be reflected in your bill, within 2 billing cycles.

I am a HomeHub+ customer. How will I be affected by these changes?

When your HomeHub+ contract has expired, your additional TV+ box rental (excluding the free rental for the 1st box) will be revised from $5 per month to $5.90 per month (inclusive of GST).

How do I check if I’m in contract or out of contract?

To view your contract end date, you may access your copy of service agreement by logging into My StarHub App.

Tap on “TV”, scroll down, and view “Contract end date”.

My TV+/HomeHub+ plan is still in contract. Can I get an additional TV+ box at $5/month?

If you rent an additional TV+ box after 1 July 2022, you will still pay $5/month for that box until the end of your TV+/HomeHub+ contract period. Rate protection applies to TV+ and HomeHub+ customers who are still in contract (please note that your TV+/HomeHub+ contract is different from your TV+ box rental contract).

Can TV+/HomeHub+ customers who re-contract before 1 July 2022 get rate protection if the installation is after 1 July 2022?

Customers who sign up to a TV+/HomeHub+ plan before 30 June 2022 will get rate protection. However, the installation must be completed by 1 August 2022.

Why does my bill have part-month (pro-rated) charges for TV+ box rental?

Part-month (pro-rated) charges will apply if your TV+/HomeHub+ contract does not end exactly on the last day of your bill cycle. For example: 

         

New rate effective date: 1 July 2022 

TV+/HomeHub+ contract end date: 15 September 2022 

Bill cycle: 12th of the month – 11th of the following month 


On your bill for 12 September 2022 to 11 October 2022, you will see part-month (pro-rated) charges for your TV+ box rental.  

  • The charges for 12 September to 15 September will be based on the old rate ($5/month) because you have rate protection till the end of your contract.
  • The charges for 16 September to 11 October will be based on the new rate ($5.90/month).
