When will my Max bundled access start?

If you’re already subscribed to one of the eligible services, your Max bundled access period will start from the date when the Max service is launched in Singapore or when your StarHub service is activated, whichever is later. You’ll receive a Max activation SMS or email from us once your bundled access has been enabled.

What's the difference between getting Max bundled access through StarHub and subscribing directly to Max?

When you sign up for any eligible StarHub plans with Max bundled access, you will get access to 5 premium channels under HBO Pak, which you can stream via the StarHub TV+ App, at the same monthly subscription fee of $14.48 as Max Standard.

I have a direct subscription through Max. Can I transfer my Max subscription to StarHub?

If you have a Max Standard subscription directly through Max
You can still sign up for the StarHub promotion and activate using the same email address as your existing Max Standard subscription. Upon your confirmation to be billed through StarHub, your existing Max billing method will be cancelled and all billing for your subscription will be managed through StarHub.

If you have a Max Ultimate subscription directly through Max
You can still sign up for the StarHub promotion and activate using a different email address as your existing Max Standard subscription. If you activate using the same email address as your existing Max Ultimate subscription, you will concurrently be billed by both Max and StarHub. unless you cancel your Max Ultimate subscription through Max.

Is there an upgrade option to Max Ultimate?

Yes, you can opt for an upgrade to Max Ultimate by topping up $4.50/month after you have activated your Max bundled access. Do note that the upgrade to Max Ultimate will only take effect from the start of your next billing cycle.

Is there a downgrade option from Max Ultimate?

Yes, you can opt for a downgrade to Max Standard. Do note that the downgrade to Max Standard will only take effect from your next billing cycle.

How can I get Max as an add-on to my StarHub service?

You can subscribe to Max Standard as an add-on service via the StarHub App.

•    Click on the “Entertainment” icon.

Who can sign up for Max as an add-on subscription?

All StarHub customers with a postpaid consumer service (Broadband or Mobile*), and have no outstanding balance with StarHub, are eligible to subscribe to Max Standard as an add-on subscription.

What’s the difference between signing up for Max via StarHub and directly with Max?

Is there a contract period for the Max add-on?

There is a 24-month contract for the Max add-on subscription. If you wish to terminate within the contract period, there will be an Early Termination Charge (ETC) based on the usual monthly subscription charges for Max Standard ($14.48/month) multiplied by your remaining months of the contract.

Is the Max add-on monthly subscription fee pro-rated?

The monthly subscription fee of Max Standard will not be pro-rated and the bill will not follow your StarHub Broadband or Mobile billing cycle. You will be billed based on the activation date of your Max add-on. For example, if your Mobile bill cycle is on the 12th of every calendar month, and you activated Max on 19 November, you will be charged for the monthly subscription from 19 November to 18 December.

I have a direct subscription through Max. Can I transfer my Max subscription to StarHub?

If you have a Max Standard subscription directly through Max
You can still sign up for the StarHub promotion and activate using the same email address as your existing Max Standard subscription. Upon your confirmation to be billed through StarHub, your existing Max billing method will be cancelled and all billing for your subscription will be managed through StarHub.

If you have a Max Ultimate subscription directly through Max
You can still sign up for the StarHub promotion and activate using a different email address as your existing Max Standard subscription. If you activate using the same email address as your existing Max Ultimate subscription, you will concurrently be billed by both Max and StarHub. unless you cancel your Max Ultimate subscription through Max.

Can I subscribe to the Max add-on when I’m overseas?

You will be able to subscribe to the Max add-on upon your return to Singapore.

How do I unsubscribe to my Max add-on after the contract period?

You can unsubscribe your Max add-on via the StarHub App after the commitment period.

  • Go to the “Entertainment” tab on the StarHub App.
  • Select “Unsubscribe” under Max.
  • Submit your request. You will receive an SMS and/or email once your request is processed. 

Do note that you can continue to enjoy Max till the end of the last billing cycle.

I am currently enjoying HBO GO on StarHub. Will I enjoy Max?

Yes, you will enjoy Max as HBO GO will be replaced by Max. You will receive a notification SMS or email once your bundled access has been enabled.

Do I need to re-activate my bundled access to Max?

For active HBO GO customers
You can simply download the Max app from App Store or Google Play, and log in using your existing HBO GO account credentials (email address and password) on the Max app.

For inactive HBO GO customers
You can activate your Max bundled access via the StarHub App using the link in the notification SMS or email. Just ensure that you have an active subscription to an eligible StarHub TV or HomeHub+ plan at the point of activation.

I am an existing HBO GO subscriber on Internet TV. Will I enjoy Max?

Yes, you will enjoy Max as HBO GO will be replaced by Max. Your HBO GO subscription will be automatically migrated to StarHub TV+ with HBO Pak with no change to your monthly subscription fee.   

You can simply download the Max app from App Store or Google Play, and log in using your existing HBO GO account credentials (email address and password) on the Max app.

How do I activate my Max bundled access?

You can activate your Max bundled access via the StarHub App. Once activated, you can start streaming on Max. Refer to our step-by-step guide here.

Can I activate my Max bundled access while I'm overseas?

The bundled access to Max can only be activated within Singapore. You may activate it upon your return from overseas.

Is there a final date to activate my bundled access for Max?

We recommend that you activate your Max bundled access as soon as you receive the SMS or email notifying you that your bundled access has been enabled. Just ensure that you have an active subscription to an eligible StarHub TV or HomeHub+ plan at the point of activation.

Is there an end date to my bundled access for Max?

Your Max bundled access will remain active as long as you have an active subscription to an eligible StarHub TV or HomeHub+ plan.

How do I stream Max via StarHub?

You can stream Max on phones, tablets, computers, TVs, streaming players and set-top boxes.

To start streaming today, install the Max app or go to max.com on your computer. Refer to the list of supported devices here.

Max is also available on the StarHub TV+ Box and StarHub TV+ Pro. Refer to our step-by-step activation and user guide here.

Can I log in and stream on Max when I'm overseas?

You can stream Max when you trace to a country or region where Max is available. You can also play shows and movies that you've already downloaded.

When you travel to a country where Max is available:

  • Shows and movies: What's available to stream will change based on your physical location. As a result, you may not be able to stream some titles on your Continue Watching and My List when you travel to another country.
  • Ratings: Content ratings are based on your physical location. If you travel to a country with a different content rating system, the parental controls that you set are applied, however, shows and movies may be rated differently.
  • Downloads: You can play shows and movies that you've already downloaded on your phone or tablet.

If you travel to a country or region where Max is not available, you won't be able to stream. You can, however, still play shows and movies that you've already downloaded.

Before you travel:

  • Download shows and movies on your phone or tablet.
  • Make sure you're signed in to Max on the device with your downloads.

Now, you can watch your downloads when you travel to any country or region.

Will data charges apply when I stream on Max using mobile devices?

Your data bundle will be deducted/charged accordingly when accessing Max. A friendly tip: use your home Wi-Fi to stream to avoid data bill shock, or download your favourite shows onto your mobile devices to watch on-the-go without an Internet connection.

How many devices can I stream at the same time with my Max account?

Each Max Standard account allows you to stream on 2 devices at once.

Each Max Ultimate account (with an optional monthly top-up fee) allows you to stream on 4 devices at once.

How many profiles can I create on my Max account?

You can create up to 5 unique profiles with each Max account. Once logged in to Max, you can go to Profiles to set up or manage your profiles. Read more here

Can I download movies and shows on Max?

You can download Max shows and movies on the following mobile devices and watch them when you're offline:

  • Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
  • Android phone and tablet
  • Amazon Fire Tablet

With Max Standard, you can enjoy 30 downloads to watch on the go. 

With Max Ultimate account (with an optional monthly top-up fee), you can enjoy 100 downloads to watch on the go (limits apply).

Is there restricted content on Max?

Yes, there are selected content on Max with the following content classifications:

  • General - Suitable for all ages.
  • Parental Guidance (PG) - Suitable for all, but parents should guide their young.
  • Parental Guidance 13 (PG13) - Suitable for persons aged 13 and above but parental guidance is advised for children below 13.
  • No Children Under 16 (NC16) - Suitable for persons aged 16 and above.
  • Mature 18 (M18) - Suitable for persons aged 18 and above.
  • Restricted 21 (R21) - Restricted to persons aged 21 and above.

Max accounts created in Singapore require a Profile PIN to access R21 content while in Singapore. Find out more here.

As a parent, how can I ensure that is safe for my kids to stream on Max?

Max offers multiple parental control features:

  • You can create a Kids profile that limits what content ratings your child can watch.
  • To keep your child from leaving their profile, you can turn on Kid-Proof Exit (or add a Profile PIN to your Adult profiles).
  • Kids profiles can’t access account management features, like your password and subscription information.

I want to cast the Max show I'm watching on my phone to my TV screen. How do I do it?

You can use Chromecast to cast Max from your phone, tablet, or computer to your TV. Find out more here.

How do I ensure I keep Max bundled access?

You would need to maintain an active subscription to an eligible StarHub TV or HomeHub+ plan to keep your Max bundled access.

If I make changes to my subscription, would my Max bundled access continue?

If you make changes to your subscription and it no longer meets the eligible plan requirements, your Max access will be terminated immediately. 

Should your subscription meet the eligible plan requirements again, your Max bundled access will be re-enabled and you’ll need to reactivate your Max account.

What happens to my Max bundled access if my StarHub service is suspended?

Your Max bundled access will be terminated immediately. You can activate your Max Account again once your StarHub service is reinstated.

What happens to my Max bundled access if my StarHub service is terminated?

Unfortunately, your Max bundled access with StarHub will be terminated as well. You may subscribe to Max directly to continue enjoying the service.

I did not receive any activation message for Max. What should I do?

You may wish to check if your email address and mobile contact number with StarHub are up-to-date. You may also want to check if the activation email is in your junk mailbox.

Alternatively, you can log in to the StarHub App and activate your Max bundled access on your own. Once you have activated it, you can start streaming on Max. Refer to our step-by-step activation guide here.
