What is Viu Premium?

Viu is a localised, legal digital platform, providing online video content in the Asia-Pacific region. Viu provides premium Asian content from Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan – with English & Chinese subtitles (for selected titles). Simulcast drama and variety series are available, from as fast as 8 hours after its original telecast for Viu Premium members.

How do I subscribe to Viu Premium?

For StarHub TV+ customers

You can sign up for StarHub TV+ with Asian+ Pass to enjoy complimentary access to Viu Premium. For current promotions, please visit here.

Existing StarHub TV+ customers can add the Asian+ Pass via the StarHub App to enjoy complimentary access to Viu Premium.

Once the Asian+ Pass is successfully activated, you’ll receive an SMS or email notification about your Viu Premium access.


For StarHub Broadband and Postpaid Mobile customers

You can subscribe to Viu Premium as a standalone app subscription. Simply visit our StarHub TV+ Store at www.starhubtvplus.com/store via a desktop web browser and log in with your Hub iD.

Note: StarHub TV+ Store is currently not supported on mobile browsers.

I am an existing Asian+ Pass subscriber. How and when can I enjoy Viu Premium?

Your Asian+ Pass comes with complimentary Viu Premium access. You should have received an SMS or email notification informing you that your access has been enabled.

If you’re unable to activate your Viu Premium access, please reach out to us by sending us a message on Facebook or WhatsApp.

I have multiple Asian+ Pass subscriptions. Do I enjoy multiple complimentary access to Viu Premium?
You’ll only be able to enjoy 1 complimentary access to Viu Premium regardless of the number of Asian+ Pass subscriptions you have. With a premium account, you can watch on any 3 devices (phone, tablet or TV) and 1 PC at the same time.

Is activation required for Viu Premium access and is there any expiry period?

You can activate your complimentary Viu Premium access using your Hub iD as soon as you receive the SMS or email notifying you that your access has been enabled. Just ensure that you have an active subscription to Asian+ Pass.

I’m an existing Viu Premium subscriber. How can I enjoy Viu Premium access from StarHub with my Asian+ Pass subscription?

If you’re an existing Viu Premium subscriber, you’ll need to create a new Viu account with a different email address or social login method (e.g., Facebook login) and link it to your Hub iD.

Do note that your existing Viu Premium subscription directly with Viu will continue. For enquiries, please email enquiry.sg@viu.com.

What will happen to my complimentary access to Viu Premium if I remove my Asian+ Pass?

Unfortunately, your complimentary access to Viu Premium will be terminated as well.

What will happen to my complimentary access to Viu Premium if I terminate my StarHub TV+ service?

Unfortunately, your complimentary access to Viu Premium will be terminated as well.

What will happen to my complimentary access to Viu Premium if I transfer the ownership of my StarHub TV+ service?

Unfortunately, your complimentary access to Viu Premium will be terminated. The new owner of your StarHub TV+ service will have complimentary access to Viu Premium as long as they keep the Asian+ Pass. They will need to create a Viu account and link it to their Hub iD to start their access.

What will happen to my complimentary access to Viu Premium if I suspend my StarHub TV+ service?

Your complimentary access to Viu Premium will be paused and you’ll need to re-activate your Viu Premium subscription using your Hub iD once your StarHub TV+ service resumes.


Viu Premium for Broadband or Postpaid Mobile

I’m a StarHub Broadband / Postpaid Mobile subscriber. Can I subscribe to Viu Premium through StarHub?

Yes, you can subscribe to Viu Premium as a standalone app subscription. Simply visit our StarHub TV+ Store at www.starhubtvplus.com/store via a desktop web browser and log in with your Hub iD.

Note: StarHub TV+ Store is currently not supported on mobile browsers.

How much do I have to pay for a Viu Premium subscription?

Viu Premium is available at $8.98/month with viewing of up to 1080p (full HD) resolution on supported devices.

If you’re an existing StarHub TV customer, you can simply upgrade to StarHub TV+ with Asian+ Pass or add Asian+ Pass to your existing StarHub TV+ subscription to enjoy complimentary access to Viu Premium.

Is there any special offer if I subscribe to Viu Premium via StarHub?

Currently, there’s no special offer. However, you can enjoy the convenience of paying for your subscription via your StarHub bill.

How do I terminate my Viu Premium subscription with StarHub?

You have full control and can terminate your Viu Premium subscription anytime. To cancel, log in to My Account > Internet TV. Termination is immediate and the monthly charge will be pro-rated accordingly.

Will there be any early termination charges if I decide to cancel my Viu Premium subscription?

There are no termination fees for Viu Premium. You have full control to choose how long you want to enjoy your Viu Premium subscription.

What will happen to my Viu Premium subscription if I suspend, terminate, or transfer my StarHub Broadband or Postpaid Mobile service?

Your Viu Premium subscription will continue, and you’ll still receive a bill from StarHub regardless of the status of your StarHub Broadband or Postpaid Mobile service.

How do I access Viu on the StarHub TV+ Box or StarHub TV+ Pro?

First, you’ll need to activate your Viu Premium complimentary access using your Hub iD on the Viu mobile app.


Thereafter, you can access the Viu app on the StarHub TV+ Box or StarHub TV+ Pro by following the steps here.

How many devices can I use to stream on Viu Premium at the same time?

As a Viu Premium subscriber, you can stream on any 3 devices (phone, tablet, or TV) and 1 PC at the same time.

Can I download movies and shows with Viu Premium?

Yes, you can enjoy unlimited downloads with Viu Premium. Simply click on the â sign on the right of each video to start downloading.

Will mobile data charges apply when I stream on Viu?

Do note that any mobile data used while streaming on Viu Premium will be deducted from your data allowance bundle. A friendly tip: Use your home Wi-Fi to stream to avoid data bill shock, or you can download your favourite shows onto your mobile devices to watch on-the-go without an Internet connection.

Is there restricted content for Viu Premium?

Yes, there are selected content on Viu with the following content classifications:

  • General - Suitable for all ages.
  • Parental Guidance (PG) - Suitable for all, but parents should guide their young.
  • Parental Guidance 13 (PG13) - Suitable for persons aged 13 and above but parental guidance is advised for children below 13.
  • No Children Under 16 (NC16) - Suitable for persons aged 16 and above.
  • Mature 18 (M18) - Suitable for persons aged 18 and above
  • Restricted 21 (R21) - Restricted to persons aged 21 and above.

As a parent, how can I ensure that it is safe for my kids to stream on Viu?

You can set up a Parental Controls Lock with a 4-digit PIN so that children cannot view the restricted content without your permission. For more information, please click here.

Is Chromecast supported on the Viu app?

Yes, Chromecast is supported on the Viu app. Simply connect the Viu app and your Chromecast device to the same Wi-Fi network and tap the Cast icon on the top right corner of the video.

Can I use Viu Premium outside of Singapore?

As Viu SG contents are only accessible within Singapore, you will not be able to access it outside of the region or overseas.

I’ve been logged out of the Viu app unexpectedly on my mobile device. What should I do?

If you’ve been logged out of the Viu app on your mobile device, please try the following:


  • Go to the Login screen and select Log in (at the top right corner)
  • Log in with your Viu account
  • Check if you’re on Viu Premium or on a free account


If you’re not on Viu Premium, please follow the activation guide to log in with your Hub iD again.

  • If you’re not on Viu Premium, please follow the activation guide to log in with your Hub iD again. After linking, follow these steps to pair your StarHub TV+ Box or StarHub TV+ Pro with your Viu account using your mobile device.
