    You can purchase iPhone 5 with a 24-month mobile contract at all StarHub Shops or selected authorised dealers on a first come first served basis and while stocks last. Please refer to www.starhub.com/iphone for the list of StarHub Shops.

  2. Will I be able to check on the stocks availability at the listed shops?

    Yes, you may check the iPhone 5 stocks availability here before heading down to any StarHub shop or selected authorized dealers to make your iPhone 5 purchase. Due to high demand and stocks limitation, the information on stocks provided is on best effort basis and not real-time. We are unable to provide the specific stock level for individual models.

  3. Can I purchase the iPhone 5 with my existing StarHub mobile line(s)?

    You may choose to renew your existing line if it is up for renewal. However, you need to renew your existing mobile line on the new iPhone SmartSurf mobile plan. For more information on iPhone 5 and price plans, please refer to www.starhub.com/iphone.

  4. Can I upgrade to the iPhone 5 even though I have a current handset contract with StarHub?

    Customers who have an existing mobile service contract with us may upgrade their mobile handset after completing 12 months of that contract. There is an Early Handset Upgrade Fee of $300 if the handset is an iPhone or $200 for any other phone. Those who have fulfilled 21 months of their existing mobile service contract need not pay any early handset upgrade fee.

  5. Are there specific price plans for the iPhone 5 and must I switch to the new price plans if I want to purchase the iPhone 5?

  6. I have an existing iPhone, can I trade in my old iPhone when I buy my new iPhone 5 with StarHub?

    Yes, trade-ins are accepted together with the purchase of a mobile phone. The trade-in mobile phone should be in good working condition, complete with the original battery pack and charger. StarHub reserves the right to reject any trade-in at our own discretion. For trade-in models and values, please refer to www.starhub.com/tradein.

  7. I have received a mobile handset voucher to renew my existing line from StarHub. Can I use this voucher for iPhone 5?

    Yes, you are allowed to use the voucher to renew on your existing mobile line for iPhone 5. However, please note that this voucher will not be applicable for a new mobile line sign-up.

  8. Is it necessary to take-up a NanoSIM?

    Yes, iPhone 5 operates on NanoSIM.

  9. Is iPhone 5 compatible with StarHub’s 4G network?

    Yes. Users of iPhone 5 can connect to StarHub’s LTE and DC-HSPA+ mobile network which will provide download speeds of up to 75 Mbps.

  10. How do I update my iPhone 5’s carrier setting so I can connect to StarHub’s 4G LTE network?

    Ensure that your iPhone 5 is connected to the Internet. Tap Setting --> General --> About and a prompt will appear. Follow the instructions to update your carrier settings. If you have subscribed to any of our four new SmartSurf plans, you will be able to connect to our 4G LTE network.

  1. Are there any exceptions to allow StarHub customers to upgrade to iPhone 4S within the first 12 months of a 24-month handset contract?
    Customers are not eligible to upgrade their handsets within the first 12 months of a handset contract.

  2. Is there an option to allow iPhone 4/ 3G S customers in contract to exchange their handsets for an iPhone 4S?
    There is currently no exchange option for iPhone 4/ 3G S customers.

  3. Can the purchase of iPhone 4S be redeemed with handset upgrade vouchers issued by StarHub?
    Yes, iPhone 4S purchase can be redeemed with any valid handset upgrade vouchers issued by StarHub.

  4. What are the terms & conditions of an iPhone Contract?
    • As the iPhone is sold to customers at an offer price, contractually they are required to subscribe to the mobile plan for the entire contractual period.
    • Minimum period of 24 months.
    • 12th month Early Handset Upgrade Scheme apply. Early Handset Upgrade fee is at $300, which is payable on top of the price of the new handset.
    • No downgrade of mobile subscription plans is allowed within the contractual period.
    • Early Termination Charges (ETC) applies for termination of subscription within the contractual period.

MMS/GPRS Settings

How do i set up MMS for my iPhone? Can I set up my MMS only after I have activated data?

MMS setting is together with the carrier bundle when customer first tether the device to unbrick. The settings apply immediately after unbricking and restarting the phone. There is no further setup required for MMS, GPRS or using it as a modem. All these settings are included in the carrier bundle. Please remember to power down and power up the phone after unbricking your iPhone.

Manage data usage when using your iPhone

There are several ways to reduce your data charges when using your iPhone, simply by turning off all push notifications and location services in your iPhone.

To stop push notifications.

  • Select Settings -> Notifications -> (Select required App) -> Notifications Center -> OFF.


To stop location services
     

  • Select Settings -> Location Services -> OFF.


If you want to continue using emails but want to reduce the barrage of emails, you can still do so by turning off the fetch feature:
     

  • Turning off fetch. Select Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data -> Push -> OFF.


And if you absolutely must have your iPhone when traveling abroad but do not want to use any data, you can follow the steps below to turn off Data Roaming:
     

  • Select Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Cellular Data -> OFF. This will make sure that bandwidth is not being used by your iPhone without your permission.
