What is the Prepaid SIM card registration limit as of 1 April 2014?
From 1 April 2014, each customer can register up to 3 Prepaid SIM cards across all service providers.
Why am I allowed to register 3 Prepaid SIM cards only?
As a new mandatory requirement by the authorities effective from 1 April 2014, each customer can only register up to 3 Prepaid SIM cards across all service providers.
Why must I register my Prepaid SIM cards?
As mandated by the authorities, all Prepaid SIM cards must be registered with the respective service providers.
How do I register and activate my Prepaid SIM card?
Please bring along the original documents for SIM card registration at the place of purchase. Upon successful registration, your prepaid SIM card will be automatically activated.

I have lost my NRIC. Can I register my Prepaid SIM card with my driving license?
No. As mandated by the authorities, only the original NRIC is accepted as a form of identification document for Singaporeans. The other exception is for National Servicemen, who can produce their SAF11B pass for registration.
What is the minimum age for Prepaid SIM Card registration?
The minimum age for Prepaid SIM card registration is 15 years old.
Are there any penalties for customers who do not produce identification documents for registration?
As mandated by the authorities, service providers are not permitted to sell Prepaid SIM cards to customers who do not produce identification documents at the point of purchase.

I have registered 10 Prepaid SIM cards before 1 April 2014. Can I retain all my SIM cards?
Yes, you may retain all of your existing registered Prepaid SIM cards. However, you will not be able to register for additional mobile Prepaid SIM cards from 1 April 2014 when the new regulatory requirement takes effect. Each customer can register up to 3 Prepaid SIM cards by customer identification at any one time.
I have registered 3 Prepaid SIM cards before 1 April 2014. Can I purchase a 4th Prepaid SIM card?
You will need to de-register one of your existing 3 Prepaid SIM cards registered with your identification document before you can register for a new Prepaid SIM card. Each customer can register up to 3 Prepaid SIM cards by customer identification at any one time.
I have 3 Prepaid SIM cards and have converted one of my Prepaid numbers to mobile post-paid subscription. Why can’t I register for a new Prepaid SIM card?
You will need to de-register the converted Mobile Prepaid SIM card before you can register for a new one. Each customer can register up to 3 Prepaid SIM cards by customer identification at any one time.

I have registered 5 Mobile Prepaid SIM cards and need to replace a faulty SIM card. Can I keep all my 5 SIM cards? Can I get the replacement SIM card from another service provider?
Yes, you can replace your faulty Prepaid SIM card at the following StarHub Shops. A replacement fee of $26.75 (with GST) applies.

You will not be able to get the replacement SIM card from another service provider if you would like to keep all 5 SIM cards. Each customer can only register up to 3 Prepaid SIM cards in by customer identification at any one time.
The replacement SIM card can only be acquired from the service provider that has issued you the original SIM card.
I have registered 5 Prepaid SIM cards before 1 April 2014 I have received a notification from StarHub to re-register my details. Can I still keep all my 5 cards?
Yes, you can retain all 5 Prepaid SIM cards after re-registration. Please visit any StarHub Customer Service Centre to re-register within the given time period.
Can I port one of my Prepaid numbers from another service provider to StarHub?
Yes, you can port an existing Prepaid card from another service provider to StarHub, as long as the total number of Prepaid SIM cards registered with your identification document is within the limit mandated by the authorities.

Prepaid Validity Expiry
What top-up denominations will extend the validity period of the prepaid SIM card?
The following top-up denominations will extend your prepaid credit validity up to 180 days.
Main wallet top-up denomination
$2 - $4
$5 - $9
$10 - $16
$17 and above
What is the validity period for StarHub Prepaid SIM cards?
All StarHub Prepaid SIM cards are valid for up to 180 days from the date of activation of the prepaid card. Customers will need to top up the SIM before the expiry date to extend the card validity period.
Otherwise, the SIM card and the remaining balances will be forfeited and no refund requests will be accepted under any circumstances.
If there is value inside the prepaid card but no usage for a period of 2 years, will the prepaid card be automatically terminated by StarHub?
Upon activation, the card will be terminated within 180 days if there is no further top-up. Length of validity depends on the type of top-up.
Validity Extension Packs FAQ
What is Validity Extension for Prepaid Main Wallet?
It is a service that allows you to extend your StarHub Prepaid Main Wallet validity for a fee. The expiry of all other balances will not be extended.
What are the benefits of Validity Extension for Prepaid Main Wallet?
If you have unused credits in your main wallet and the validity date is expiring, you can simply extend the validity for a fee to continue using your Prepaid SIM.
Is the Validity Extension for Prepaid Main Wallet open to all StarHub Prepaid SIM?
No. It is open to StarHub Prepaid Voice SIM only.
How do I purchase the Validity Extension for Prepaid Main Wallet VAS?
Simply key in *123*200# on your registered Prepaid mobile phone and select your preferred validity extension period.
Note: Purchase cannot be made on behalf of another StarHub Prepaid mobile.
My Prepaid Main Wallet has expired. Can I still purchase the Validity Extension VAS?
No. Validity Extension VAS can only be purchased before your Main wallet expires.
How do I know if my purchase for Validity Extension is successful?
You will receive an SMS message notifying you of the new main wallet balance and new expiry date.
Is there a maximum period for validity extension of main wallet?
Yes. The maximum extension period is capped at 180 days from date of purchase.
Will the deduction from my main wallet take place before my prepaid SIM card validity is extended?
Yes, the fee will be deducted first from your main wallet accordingly to the extension purchased. You need to have sufficient funds in your main wallet before you can do the purchase.
Can StarHub do the refund after the Validity Extension VAS is purchased?
No. No refunds will be given for Validity Extension purchases.
- Open to all StarHub Mobile Prepaid Active Voice SIM only.
- This Value Added Service must be purchased prior to main wallet expiry.
- Main wallet must have sufficient credits for fee deduction to extend the Main wallet validity date.
- Multiple packs can be purchased as long as your main wallet validity does not exceed the maximum period of 180 days.
