  1. What is BlackBerry Prepaid?
    BlackBerry Prepaid is StarHub’s value-added service for Happy Prepaid customers to activate BlackBerry service on a prepaid basis according to their email/surfing needs.

  2. What are the benefits of using BlackBerry Prepaid?
    With BlackBerry Prepaid, there’s no monthly subscription and customers get instant emails pushed to them at all time. Customers can choose from a range of flexible rates available and surf with free bundled data.

  3. The current BlackBerry service on a Postpaid scheme caters for both individual and corporate service. What are the types of BlackBerry Prepaid service available?
    Similarly, there are also 2 types of BlackBerry Prepaid service available:
    (a) BlackBerry Prepaid for Individual
    (b) BlackBerry Prepaid for Corporate

  4. What do I need in order to activate BlackBerry Prepaid service?
    To activate BlackBerry Prepaid, you would need our Happy Prepaid SIM Card and a BlackBerry handset. You can purchase a Happy Prepaid SIM Card from any StarHub shops and all Exclusive Partner outlets.

  5. How do I activate BlackBerry Prepaid on my Happy Prepaid SIM card?
    To activate BlackBerry Prepaid on your Happy Prepaid line, simply key *122# and dial, then follow the simple step-by-step instructions to complete the activation. No, you are not allowed to activate the 2 different types of BlackBerry Prepaid services at the same time.

  6. Can I activate both BlackBerry Prepaid for Individual and BlackBerry Prepaid for Corporate at the same time?
    No, you are not allowed to activate the 2 different types of BlackBerry Prepaid services at the same time.

  7. How do I check my BlackBerry Prepaid service details?
    To check your BlackBerry Prepaid service details, simply key *122# and dial, then press “9” to select checking your BlackBerry Prepaid status. An SMS will be sent to you on your BlackBerry Prepaid service details.

  8. Can I use BlackBerry Prepaid while roaming?
    Yes, you can use BlackBerry Prepaid service while roaming. However, you will be charged the prevailing international data roaming rates for sending/receiving emails and for all internet access including via BlackBerry.net APN.

    Please note that the free bundle data is also for use only within StarHub network in Singapore. You will be charged the prevailing international data roaming rates while roaming and it will be deducted from the main balance of your Happy Prepaid line.

  9. If I have activated a BlackBerry Prepaid plan while roaming, what can I do?
    If you have activated a BlackBerry Prepaid plan, your handset would have been activated with BlackBerry service, so you will be able to send/receive emails and access internet. However, you will be charged the international data roaming rates and it will be deducted from your account main balance.

    Likewise for all StarHub Prepaid services, we will not be able to refund any plans activated before and during roaming.

    The BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card is a SIM card designed specifically for BlackBerry smartphones and it comes pre-activated with the 7-day BlackBerry for Individual Plan worth $15.
  2. Is BlackBerry Prepaid SIM available in microSIM?
    No.  BlackBerry Prepaid SIM is not available in microSIM. 
  3. How much is BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card? 
    The BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card is priced at $15.  You will receive the following benefits:

  8. Do I have to register for my newly purchased BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card at the point-of-purchase?
    Yes.  All prepaid SIM card sold in Singapore must be registered by the customer at the point-of-purchase.
  9. Do I need to activate my newly purchased BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card?
    As with all prepaid SIM cards, you will need to activate the newly purchased BlackBerry SIM card by using the card for the first time.  To activate, simply make a call/SMS or browse the web.
  10. What is the validity period for BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card?
    The BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card comes with a validity of 180-days or 6 months.  Simply top-up your BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card before the expiry date and it will be extended to 180 days from the date of top-up.
  11. How do I extend my BlackBerry for Individual (BIS) plan during/after the plan expired?
    To extend or activate another BlackBerry Prepaid Plan, simply dial *122# and following by the CALL button.  Follow the simple step-by-step instruction to activate your desired plan.
  12. How to check my BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card balance?
    You can check your BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card balance by the following methods:
    - Prepaid Hotline: dial 98500000 and select option 1 for balance enquiry.
    - Send USSD code: *113# and Press CALL button
  13. How do I top up BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card?
    You can select any of the following modes to top-up your BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card:
    - Prepaid top-up card
    - Internet top-up;
    - Electronic top-up via ATMs (DBS/POSB), AXS Stations, and SingPost SAMs.
  14. Is there a maximum top-up amount for my BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card?
    For main balance top up, the maximum amount will be $999
  15. What top-up denominations will extend the validity period of the BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card?
    Any top-up amount will extend the validity period of the BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card.
  16. I tried to use my BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card on a handset I purchased and there is an error message “SIM Card Error”. What does this mean?
    If you are travelling to Singapore with your BlackBerry Smartphone, you may want to contact your mobile provider in your country and request to unlock the BlackBerry device to accept other SIM cards.  
  17. I have activated my BlackBerry Prepaid SIM card but I do not have BlackBerry Service, what should I do?
    To activate the BlackBerry for Indiividual plan, please restart your BlackBerry smartphone.

    ** Email refers to mail account that is integrated with the BlackBerry device. Instant Messaging refers to BlackBerry Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, AOL and ICQ. Social Networking apps refers to Facebook, Flickr, MySpace and Twitter.

    Note: For Internet Browsing and when BlackBerry device function as a modem within StarHub network in Singapore, data access will be deducted from the bundled local data.


  2. How do I activate BlackBerry Prepaid Plan?
    To activate BlackBerry Prepaid plan, simply key *122# and press send/dial on your mobile phone. Simply follow the instructions on-screen to activate a plan of your choice.

  3. How is the local bundle data being utilised?
    Local bundle data will be utilised when data is accessing via APN shppd. Browsing StarHub GEE Portal, video streaming and when blackberry device function as a modem in Singapore utilises the local bundle data that comes with BlackBerry Prepaid plans.

  4. What happens if I had exceeded my free bundle data?
    You will be charged at the prevailing data rate if you have exceeded the free bundled data.

  5. Can the free bundle data under the BlackBerry Prepaid plans be used while roaming?
    No, the free bundle data is for use only within StarHub network in Singapore. You will be charged the prevailing international data roaming rates while roaming and it will be deducted from your account main balance.

    For data roaming charges, please refer here. Any data roaming charges will be deducted from your account main balance and your data access will be terminated when your main balance is depleted.

  6. I have activated a 7-days BlackBerry Prepaid for Individual plan. If I have depleted the free bundled data before my plan expires, will I still be able to surf via StarHub Gee!?
    After depleting the free bundled data, data usage thereafter via Gee! will be chargeable at $0.005/KB and the charges will be deducted from your account main balance.

  7. How are the plan(s) being charged?
    All BlackBerry Prepaid plans will be charged fairly based on 24-hour clock cycle.

    E.g. Customer activates a 7-Days Plan on 1-Jan at 2000 hrs, his BlackBerry Prepaid service will expire on 04-Jan at 1959 hrs.

Technical

  1. If I have activated a 7-days BlackBerry Prepaid for Individual plan, why am I not receiving 'push' emails to my BlackBerry device?
    You can try to reset your device by turning it off, then turn it on again.

  2. I have activated a 7-days BlackBerry Prepaid for Individual plan. If I have depleted the free bundled data before my plan expires, will I still receive 'push' emails to my device?
    Yes, you will still send/receive 'push' emails on your BlackBerry device throughout the 7-days period even though you have depleted your free bundled data.

  3. I am a BlackBerry Prepaid for Corporate user, what happens when I change a new BlackBerry device?
    You will need to seek your BlackBerry Administrator for resetting your Enterprise Activation password so that you can sync your office email to push to the new BlackBerry device.

  4. I have changed to a new BlackBerry device, however I am not receiving any of my personal email push to the new device. Why is this so?
    After changing to a new BlackBerry device, you are required to re-setup your personal email account on the new device.

    To setup your personal email, simply click on "Email Settings" icon/application in the Setup folder. You will be prompted to validate the existing pop3/imap account(s) integrated with the Happy Prepaid SIM activated with BlackBerry Prepaid before. Once that is done, your personal email will be pushed to your new BlackBerry device.

  5. I have passed my previous BlackBerry device to another user, will he/she be able to receive my personal emails pushed to the device?
    No, new user will not be able to receive your personal email automatically. To setup his/her personal email account, the new user will just need to click on "Email Settings" icon/application in the Setup folder.

  6. What number can I call for technical support?
    For technical support, please call 1633.

  7. Will I be charged for internet access via "StarHub Gee!"?
    Yes, you will be charged for internet access via "StarHub Gee!" as it connects via "shppd" APN rather than "BlackBerry.net" APN.

  8. Will I be charged for the internet access via the BlackBerry browser?
    No, you will not be charged for the internet access via BlackBerry browser as it connects via "BlackBerry.net" APN. Internet access via BlackBerry.net is unlimited.

    However, if you are streaming any video from the Internet via the BlackBerry browser, you will still be charged for data usage.

  9. Why am I being charged for streaming video via BlackBerry.net APN?
    This is because our backend system utilizes a different connection which will connect via shppd APN and therefore it's chargeable.

    The data charges for streaming of video can be utilized from the free bundle data that comes together with the selected plan. If your free bundled data is depleted, you will then be charged at the prevailing data usage rate.

  10. I was accessing the internet via StarHub Gee! previously. Now, I have chosen to access the internet via BlackBerry.net APN. Why am I still being charged?
    You might not have ended the session from StarHub Gee! correctly, so the handset might still be detecting the connection via BlackBerry.net as a continuous session rather than a new session. To end your session from StarHub Gee! and prevent yourself from being charged further, you would have to exit from the StarHub Gee! browser before you start the browser from BlackBerry.net APN.
