9
Can StarHub manage the TP-Link ER706W for subscribers?

TP-Link ER706W can be StarHub owned and StarHub managed (day 2 support provided), StarHub owned and customer managed (day 2 support provided) or customer owned and customer managed (excludes day 2 support).

10
Can the TP-Link ER706W work/mesh with other brands/models?

Unfortunately, it cannot with other brands, but it can work with other TP Link Omada Access Points.

11
What does the TP Link Omada app do?

The TP-Link Omada app provides mobile, centralized management for TP-Link Omada networking devices, allowing users to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot access points, switches, and routers. It supports both standalone setup for small networks and cloud-based, multi-site management for large-scale deployments.

If you forget your TP-Link Omada Account password, use the "Forgot Password" option on the TP-Link Cloud login page to initiate a reset via email. If the controller is local, you can use the configured email server for password recovery. For hardware, factory resetting the device via the physical button (10 seconds) restores default credentials (admin/admin).

14
What should I do if I forget my TP-Link web management password?

If you forget your TP-Link Omada web management password, use the "Forgot Password" option on the login page, which sends a reset link to your registered email. If cloud access is not configured, you must perform a factory reset by holding the physical reset button on the device for about 10 seconds until the LED flashes.

15
How can a customer ensure that the firmware is updated to the latest?

Customers may request to take over the router ownership from StarHub, while StarHub continues to provide Day 2 support. After the takeover, the customer will receive the router’s user ID and password, allowing them to download and install the latest firmware from the vendor’s website. If the router fails after the takeover, the customer will need to request a StarHub onsite visit, which will be chargeable.

How to improve the Wi-Fi range of TP-Link ER706W?

To improve the Wi-Fi range of the TP-Link ER706W, optimize antenna positioning (45-degree angle), place the unit centrally and elevated, and minimize interference from walls or electronics. Further, update firmware, switch to less congested channels (2.4GHz for range, 5GHz for speed), and utilize Omada Mesh for expanded coverage.

  • Positioning and Physical Adjustments
    • Optimal Placement: Position the ER706W in an open, central location, away from walls and metal objects to minimize signal obstruction.
    • Elevate the Unit: Place the router on a shelf or mount it higher up, as signals tend to travel better downwards and outwards.
    • Antenna Orientation: Adjust the antennas to a 45-degree angle or straight up (0 degrees) for the best multi-story coverage.
    • Avoid Interference: Keep the router away from electronic devices that produce electromagnetic noise, such as microwaves, cordless phones, and monitors.
  • Configuration Improvements
    • Update Firmware: Regularly update the router's firmware via the Omada app or web interface to ensure optimal performance and receive range improvements.
    • Channel Optimization: Change the wireless channel to a less congested one to reduce interference.
    • Adjust Bandwidth: For better stability, you may need to adjust the channel bandwidth in the wireless settings.
  • Extending Coverage
    • Omada Mesh Network: As the ER706W is part of the Omada ecosystem, add other Omada-compatible Access Points (APs) to create a seamless mesh network, which is the most effective way to extend range.
    • Range Extenders: Use a TP-Link range extender placed halfway between the router and the dead zone to boost coverage.
