How It Works

Can we erase drives without an internet connection?

Yes. We offer an Offline Option using a HASP Key to login and save reports locally to an external device, which can be uploaded to the cloud later.

Does this work for loose drives in our data center?

Yes. The Certus Erasure Machine is designed for 19" racks and supports hot-plugging for mass hard drive erasure without needing a host server.

Is the erasure report legally defensible?

Absolutely. The system generates tamper-proof audit trails and digitally signed certificates that serve as evidence of compliance for auditors (internal or external).

Why do I need data erasure?

The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) strictly enforces data protection in Singapore. Breaches stemming from poor data sanitization can result in financial penalties of up to 10% of an organization's annual turnover or SGD $1 million, whichever is higher. Data remnants on decommissioned devices are a major, yet avoidable, liability.

Why can't I just format my files?

Deleting files or performing a standard format merely removes the pointers to the data. The actual enterprise data remains intact on the drive and can be easily recovered using widely available forensic tools, leaving your company exposed during hardware turnover.

What happens if I do not engage in scheduled data erasure efforts?
