Singapore, 22 October 2016 – Martial arts drama, A Fist Within Four Walls, pulled no punches at the seventh edition of StarHub TVB Awards. The highly-rated drama—which starred Ruco Chan and Nancy Wu as a bickering duo who eventually fell in love with each other—bagged a total of seven accolades including My Favourite TVB Drama, My Favourite TVB Actor and Actress, My Favourite On-Screen Couple, My Favourite TVB Male and Female Characters, as well as My Favourite TVB Theme Song.

For their notable acting chops in A Fist Within Four Walls, Ruco and Nancy clinched the highly coveted My Favourite TVB Actor and My Favourite TVB Actress awards respectively. With this third consecutive win, Ruco sealed his position as a bona fide actor in the hearts of Singaporean audiences. Meanwhile, this was Nancy’s first time winning the My Favourite TVB Actress Award in Singapore – an affirmation of her standout performance as a feisty landlady in the drama. Together with rising stars, Benjamin Yuen and Grace Wong, Ruco and Nancy also garnered the My Favourite Onscreen Couple awards for their electrifying onscreen chemistry.

Highly-regarded actor, Wayne Lai, was the co-winner of the My Favourite TVB Actor award, sharing the top accolade with Ruco. As the protagonist in Short End of the Stick, Wayne’s performance as a eunuch, won him critical acclaim regionally. Raymond Cho who was also cast as a eunuch in the same drama, snagged the My Favourite TVB Supporting Actor for his convincing portrayal as the feminine Sai Gai. Nailing the part of Sai Gai’s cross-dressing wife to perfection, Rosina Lam bagged the well-deserved My Favourite TVB Supporting Actress award.

Edging out keen competition such as Benjamin Yuen, Eliza Sam and Sisley Choi, Ali Lee and Mat Yeung snagged the TVB Most Improved Artiste awards; while the Best New TVB Artiste awards went to Moon Lau and Matthew Ho. Moon showcased her acting prowess as the rebellious and mischievous daughter of the triad leader in A Fist Within Four Walls. Although Matthew was cast in supporting roles in Blue Veins and Brother’s Keeper II, his credible acting and boyish good looks left a lasting impression on viewers, propelling him into the spotlight.

The star-studded awards presentation hosted by crowd-favourites Carol Cheng and FAMA, a popular hip-hop duo, was held at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands. The stellar line-up of over 20 artistes included the likes of Bobby Au-Yeung, Alice Chan and Kenneth Ma. Singapore’s latest singing sensation, Nathan Hartono, as well as singers Andy Hui and Kit Chan also graced the event as performing artistes. TVB’s reigning king and queen, Ruco and Nancy stole the show when they performed a duet to the well-loved theme song, Never Know You Are The Best from A Fist Within Four Walls.
