StarHub Extends Free Incoming Calls Promotion Till 2005

Singapore, 28 March 2003 - The Calling Party Pays (CPP) regime does not exist in Singapore presently, but for StarHub mobile customers, it is a different story! Since its commercial launch in April 2000, StarHub postpaid mobile customers have been enjoying Free Incoming local Calls!

StarHub knows that Free Incoming local Calls is the overwhelming choice of the Singapore consumers. In two separate polls conducted by The Straits Times Interactive and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore last year, 95% and 80% of the survey participants wanted Free Incoming local Calls respectively.

Today, StarHub is pleased to announce that it will be extending its highly popular and innovative Free Incoming local Calls promotion for another 13 months. The Free Incoming local Calls promotion was slated to end on 31 March 2004. However, with this extension, all new and existing StarHub post-paid mobile customers, will continue to benefit from Free Incoming local Calls until 1 May 2005. Besides Free Incoming local Calls, regardless of mobile subscription plan, all postpaid customers enjoy Per Second Billing, All-Day Flat Rate and Free IDD 018 Calls to Malaysia*.

"Chances are, if you ask someone about what makes StarHub stands out, a good number of them will say Free Incoming Calls. This has been the cornerstone of our success. This truly innovative feature is unique to StarHub," said Mr Chan Kin Hung, Senior Vice President, StarHub Mobile. "Our customers have told us that they enjoy having control over their phone bills. They pay mainly for the calls they make with Free Incoming local Calls. On top of that, our Per Second Billing feature means that they do not pay for a second more!"

"With Free Incoming local Calls, StarHub mobile customers save up to a whopping 50% on their monthly mobile bills," added Mr Chan. "For instance, if a StarHub mobile customer receives 6 incoming calls of three minutes each day, he saves S$2.70 daily, based on the rate of S$0.15 per minute. In one year, he would have saved about S$1,000. That's a significant amount!"

StarHub also announced today new rates for its PowerPlay and PowerTalk plans. From 1 June 2003, new PowerPlay customers will pay S$28, and PowerTalk customers, S$88. These plans continue to provide all-day Free Incoming local Calls, Per Second Billing, All-Day Flat Rate and No IDD 018 Charge to Malaysia. To reward existing PowerPlay & PowerTalk users, they will continue to pay the original prices (S$22 & S$68 respectively) and enjoy the mentioned benefits. This offer of paying the original prices is also extended to new customers who sign up before 1 June 2003.

To enjoy StarHub's Free Incoming local Calls, the public can sign up at StarHub shops located at StarHub Centre, OUB Centre, Tampines Mall and Wisma Atria or at any of the 200 StarHub preferred partners' (authorised dealers and distributors) shops throughout Singapore.

* No IDD 018 Charge to Malaysia promotion ends on 30 June 2003. Users pay only for the local mobile airtime.
