giga! Turns Three, Rallies Customers in $1.2 Million Support for Persons with Disabilities
Donating up to 10,000 mobile lines for beneficiaries to enjoy enriching digital experiences
Singapore, 21 May 2022 – Marking three successful years of delivering the “Best Mobile Service in an App” for customers, giga! – the all-digital brand by StarHub – is celebrating its’ 3rd birthday by giving back to the community. giga! will commit up to 10,000 mobile lines to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), empowering them to enjoy the things they love on their phones at no cost. Rallying its customers to do good together, giga! is calling on customers to make a digital pledge of support by simply redeeming a free gigaSurprise gift through the giga! app. With each click, StarHub and giga! will contribute more lines, not just to PwDs, but also their caregivers, connecting them to their loved ones and enriching their lives with technology.

Each giga! line gives beneficiaries on a monthly basis 6GB of data, 500 talktime minutes, 500 SMS and free data rollover, which allows unused data to be carried over for another two data renewal cycles. Lasting a full year, these lines are delivered to beneficiaries in the simplest way possible, without contracts and entirely free-of-charge, for them to enjoy a completely fuss-free digital experience on giga!.
From today, giga! customers can simply click “Pledge your support for #gigaDonates” on their giga! app to play a part in helping beneficiaries. To thank customers for doing good alongside giga!, those who pledge their support will receive a gift of 3GB local data redemption for use until their next data renewal cycle. Customers will never lose out on the #gigaexperience. Sharing the excitement of turning three, giga! will also launch a giveaway of the gigaboard for customers, a cruiser board which embodies the giga! experience of high surfing speeds and free rollover data on all plans. Between 24 May and 5 June 2022, giga! customers can indicate their interest on their giga! app for a chance to unwrap the gigaboard.
In partnership with IMDA and SG Enable under the Data for All initiative, giga! today began distributing SIM cards to beneficiaries at IMDA’s Digital for Life (DfL) Festival at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Potential beneficiaries can enquire through SG Enable, or visit giga!’s booth at the DfL festival held across Singapore, where staff volunteers from StarHub and giga! are ready to guide them on board.
