Singapore, 18 September 2019 – StarHub today provided more information on the 17 September 2019 internet access incident.

Shortly after 6pm yesterday, StarHub discovered a technical issue affecting its mobile data and fixed internet services. Its top priority was to quickly restore services for customers. For mobile data, the service was fully restored within 20 minutes. For fixed internet, most customers were able to access services soon after, and all services were fully restored by 9:50pm the same evening.

An internet routing issue has been identified as the root cause of the incident, and StarHub has ruled out a cyber attack. StarHub takes this incident seriously and is implementing measures to prevent a recurrence.

StarHub apologises to customers for the inconvenience caused by this incident and sincerely thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
