Yangon, Myanmar, 3 April 2015 – Against the backdrop of increasing economic cooperation between Myanmar and Singapore, Ooredoo Myanmar today announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with StarHub, Singapore's second-largest info-communications company, to offer high-quality international data services to companies operating from Myanmar via its International Fiber Gateway.

Both telcos have agreed to collaborate on the provision of international private leased line (IPLC) and managed services (such as IP-VPN) through each telco’s network, leveraging each party’s network reach and expertise in the respective countries.

Commenting on the partnership and the mutual benefits it will bring to both companies, Ms Denise Chng, StarHub’s General Manager of International Business said: “Singapore is Myanmar's third largest foreign direct investor. To better support Singapore enterprises expanding to Myanmar, where extraordinary expansion is now taking place, we are pleased to be the first telco to partner Ooredoo to provide end-to-end data connectivity services in a timely and cost-effective manner as never before. Both companies will be working closely together to serve corporate customers in the fast growing Myanmar market, providing them with alternative choices and higher network availability, reliability and diversity in international connectivity.”

“Through this strategic partnership, we are very excited to provide faster international data services to customers in different Business Sectors via our own International Fiber Gateway. There will be no longer network outage issues. Soon, both individual customers and business customers can enjoy fast internet and we would like to say “Thank you for your patience” to our customers”, said Daw Thiri Kyar Nyo, Public and Community Relations Senior Manager of Ooredoo Myanmar.
