Changes to Cable Service Offerings FAQ
For new Customers
Singapore has the world’s fastest fixed broadband speed on fibre connections, which is important in our country’s quest to be a Smart Nation. In line with that, we are focusing on offering broadband, pay TV and fixed voice services through the Nationwide Broadband Network (NBN) or on our own fibre infrastructure. This will allow us to provide better service standards for our customers.
NetLink Trust (NLT), the company responsible for rolling out the NBN, has an obligation to serve all residential and commercial buildings in Singapore. As such, buildings in Singapore should have connection to the NBN. If you are unsure whether your address is NBN-connected, please visit NLT’s website where you can check by entering your postal code.
You can subscribe to our 100Mbps Cable Broadband service without signing a service contract.
For existing Cable Customers
We are focusing on offering broadband, pay TV and fixed voice services through the NBN or our own fibre infrastructure. This allows us to provide better service standards for customers as Fibre offers ultra-fast broadband speeds.
Many of our customers have already migrated to Fibre and we encourage you to upgrade to our Fibre services too. Please visit any StarHub Shop, call our hotline at 1630 or go to StarHub Online Store to find out more.
You may wish to continue with your current Cable TV subscription with no contract or subscribe to StarHub Go, our one-stop video streaming service. StarHub offers a wide range of Over-the-top packs for you to choose from, with prices starting from $4.90/month. You can access StarHub Go wirelessly through a Fibre Broadband connection. If you are also subscribing to our Mobile Postpaid service, you can stream content on StarHub Go without incurring any local data charges.
You will need to have a Termination Point (TP) installed at home and StarHub Fibre Broadband service to enjoy StarHub Fibre TV. Please consider our HomeHub Plus plan which offers the best value, bundling four services - Fibre Broadband, Fibre TV, Mobile Broadband and Digital Voice in a single subscription.
The Fibre TV service is an internet and IP service delivered to you over the NBN, and the StarHub Fibre Broadband service is required to provide the internet connectivity.
You can continue with your existing Cable subscriptions even if the service contracts have ended. However, we encourage you to upgrade to Fibre as soon as possible as to enjoy ultra-fast speeds for your broadband service. If you are still on Cable service contracts, you may also choose to upgrade to our Fibre services now.
