New User Interface Update for TV+ Box

What is the new User Interface update for TV+ Box about?

To enhance your viewing experience, your StarHub TV+ Box software was progressively updated from December 2023 to February 2024.

If you are still on the old software version, please note that it will no longer be supported from 23 March 2024. Update now by simply turning off the main switch of your TV+ Box, and the software upgrade will start automatically once the TV+ Box is powered on again.

How do I check if my TV+ Box is updated with the latest software?

Here's an easy way to ensure that your TV+ Box is running the newest software: If your home screen matches the 'After' image, it means your set-top box has been updated. If not, don’t worry, simply turn off the main switch of your TV+ Box, and then turn it back on again. The software upgrade will start automatically.

What should I do if I see this screen?

You will see this screen if you are still on the old software version. Update now by simply turning off the main power switch connected to your TV+ Box, and the software upgrade will start automatically once the TV+ Box is powered on again. This upgrade may take less than 15 minutes.

What should I do if the software for my TV+ Box does not upgrade after rebooting?

If you have not turned off your TV+ Box for a long time, it may take up to at least 15 minutes for the TV+ Box to reconnect to the Google server for the software to upgrade after you have switched it back on.

End of Support for StarHub Go Streaming Box

Why is StarHub ending the support for the StarHub Go Streaming Box?

The StarHub Go Streaming Box was launched in September 2018 with selected StarHub Go subscription plans. Subsequently, StarHub reached out to all customers from 1 July 2023 regarding the discontinuation of StarHub Go and the StarHub Go Streaming Box here. As a result, the software support for the StarHub Go Streaming Box will also end with effect from 23 March 2024.

What can I do with the StarHub Go Streaming Box once it is discontinued?

You may recycle the StarHub Go Streaming Box at your nearest e-waste collection point.

Are there any alternatives accessing StarHub TV besides the StarHub Go Streaming Box?

Yes, you can continue to access your StarHub TV subscription using the following supported devices:

  • Mobile phone or tablet via the StarHub TV+ app that can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  • PC web browser via www.starhubtvplus.com.
  • Android TV via the StarHub TV+ Android TV app that can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
  • Samsung TV via the StarHub TV+ Samsung TV app that can be downloaded from Samsung App Store.

Note: StarHub TV+ is not supported on mobile web browsers, LG Smart TVs and Apple TV.

My StarHub TV+ Box is not working out-of-the-box. What should I do?

If your StarHub TV+ Box is not working out-of-the-box within the first 14 days, you may contact our customer service for an 1-1 replacement via delivery to your home address.

If your StarHub TV+ Box is faulty, please remember to bring along the following:


• StarHub TV+ Box
• Remote Control
• Power Adapter

If your Remote Control is faulty, you will only need to bring along the Remote Control.

StarHub TV+ Box is the next-generation set-top box which enables unlimited accessibility of StarHub Entertainment and Apps in a single interface. It is powered by the Android TV operating system which provides additional features such as the Google Voice Search, Chromecast built-in and Google Play Store to download apps and games.

What is the difference between the StarHub TV+ Box and the Fibre TV Set-Top Box?

The StarHub TV+ Box features a new refreshed user interface with a prioritized viewing experience for On Demand content and streaming apps, whereas the Fibre TV Set-Top Box is primarily designed to cater to a traditional Live TV viewing experience.

With the StarHub TV+ Box, you can also continue watching shows across devices. This feature will "bookmark" your viewing progress and remember where you last left off. Resume watching instantly on any supported devices whether at home or on-the-go.

Does the StarHub TV+ Box support Composite Video and Audio (RCA) outputs?

No, the StarHub TV+ Box only supports High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) output to High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compliant television sets for content copyright protection.

Can I use the StarHub TV+ Box even if I'm not subscribed to a StarHub broadband plan?

You can use the StarHub TV+ Box even if you're not subscribed to a StarHub broadband plan.

Is the StarHub TV+ Box compatible with imported television sets?

The StarHub TV+ Box is compatible with television sets sold locally which supports the 50Hz frequency.

Can I use the StarHub TV+ Box outside Singapore?

You can only use the StarHub TV+ Box in Singapore.

Does the StarHub TV+ Box have the LED clock display on the front panel?

No, there is no LED clock display on the front panel of the StarHub TV+ Box due to the smaller form factor.

Does the StarHub TV+ Box have a recording function?

The StarHub TV+ Box doesn't have a recording function. Instead, it has a feature called Time-Shift TV.


Time-Shift TV allows you to navigate through the TV guide to watch programmes that have aired in the last 24 hours. If you've tuned in to a programme in the middle of its airing, you'll also be able to “Start Over” from the beginning. It’s better than taking the trouble to personally record your shows!

Can I request to change to the StarHub TV+ Box without recontracting my current plan?

No, you will need to recontract your current plan to our new StarHub TV+ Pass to change to the new StarHub TV+ Box.

Do I need to return the Fibre TV Set-Top Box when I recontract to StarHub TV+ Pass?

We will collect your Fibre TV Set-Top Box at the same time when we deliver the StarHub TV+ Box to you based on your selected appointment.

If you have recontract to StarHub TV+ Pass without a set-top box, please return the Fibre TV Set-Top Box (along with the remote control and power adapter) to the following StarHub Shops during operating hours. Otherwise, an Equipment Loss Charge will occur.

I am an existing StarHub TV customer. Can I continue to watch using my existing Fibre Set-Top Box when I recontract to StarHub TV+ Pass?

No, you will not be able to view StarHub TV+ content on the Fibre TV Set-Top Box. StarHub TV+ Pass offers the flexibility to watch via your own devices and the set-top box is optional.


If you would like to continue to watch via a set-top box, you may rent the StarHub TV+ Box at $6.01/month at any StarHub Shops. Early Termination Charge applies.

I am a new StarHub TV customer. Can I start watching my subscribed channels without the StarHub TV+ Box?

Yes, StarHub TV+ Pass offers the flexibility to watch via your own devices and the set-top box is optional.

I am an existing StarHub TV customer recontracting to StarHub TV+ Pass. Can I continue to watch using my existing Fibre Set-Top Box while I wait for the delivery of the StarHub TV+ Box?

Yes, you can continue to watch your favourite programmes on the Fibre TV Set-Top Box until the day before your delivery. On the day of delivery, our systems will refresh in the morning so that you can connect your StarHub TV+ Box once you receive it.


If your delivery is in the afternoon or evening, you can continue to watch your favourite programmes on the StarHub TV+ app or www.starhubtvplus.com with your Hub iD in the meantime.

I have a StarHub TV+ set-top box and I plan to renovate my house. Do I need to terminate my TV+ service?

You may want to consider temporarily suspending your TV services while renovation is ongoing. Voluntary suspension is allowed for a maximum of 6 months. Fees and conditions apply.

How do I return the StarHub TV+ Box?

Will I still be able to change the subtitles on my StarHub TV+ Box after the latest software update?

The feature to change subtitles is now available for CH 823 (ONE HD), Channel 824 (tvN), and CH 838 (TVB Jade HD) from the current software version (4.617.554).

For the shows with Dual Sound, am I able to select/choose the audio feed that I want with StarHub TV+?

Yes, you can select the audio option if the show you are watching has dual language.


For version 4.617.554 and above:

  1. Press “OK” button from the StarHub TV+ remote.
  2. Select “Audio & Subtitles”.
  3. Select the desired language and press “OK” on the StarHub remote control.
  4. Select “Apply” to either “this show” or “all shows” and press “OK” on the StarHub remote control for the changes to be reflected.

V4.617.102 and above

For earlier version:

  1. Press “OK” button from the StarHub TV+ remote.
  2. Select “Audio & Subtitles”.
  3. Select the desired language and press “OK” in the StarHub remote for changes to be reflected.
