Terms & Conditions - Hotstar Promotion

 

1.             General

1.1.         StarHub may run promotions for StarHub TV+, StarHub Post-paid Mobile, StarHub Pre-paid Mobile and/or StarHub Broadband Services from time to time on terms and conditions to be prescribed by StarHub and under the terms below, StarHub is currently offering subscription to Hotstar subject to eligibility criteria and acceptance of additional terms as may be advised by Hotstar (“Promotion”). Hotstar is a paid for subscription service with a usual retail price of S$69.98 (inclusive of GST) per year. Retail price of Hotstar is subject to change at the sole discretion of Hotstar.

1.2.         The terms and conditions for the Promotion is set out below (“Promotion Terms & Conditions”).

1.3.         In addition to these Promotion Terms & Conditions, your subscription to StarHub TV+ Service, StarHub Post-paid Mobile Service, StarHub Pre-paid Mobile Service and/or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service (as applicable) is subject to StarHub's Consumer General Terms & Conditions, Service Specific Terms & Conditions for StarHub TV+ Services, StarHub Post-paid Mobile Services, StarHub Pre-paid Mobile Services, StarHub Broadband Services, fair usage policies (as applicable) and any further terms and conditions that we may have agreed to from time to time. You may view our terms and conditions at http://www.starhub.com.

1.4.         If there is any conflict or inconsistency between any provision of these Promotion Terms & Conditions, the Consumer General Terms & Conditions and Service Specific Terms & Conditions, the documents shall be construed in the following descending order of precedence:

a.     Promotion Terms & Conditions;

b.     Service Specific Terms & Conditions for StarHub TV+ Services, StarHub Post-paid Mobile Services, StarHub Pre-paid Mobile Services, StarHub Broadband Services, fair usage policies (as applicable); and

c.     Consumer General Terms & Conditions.
 

2.             For StarHub Indian+ customers:

2.1.         For a limited period from 1 November 2020 until such time we may determine, all new and re-contracting StarHub TV+ residential customers who sign up or re-contract to Indian+ Pass with a 12- or 24-month contract, are eligible to access Hotstar for 12- or 24-month duration respectively (as applicable) of their Indian+ pass subscription (“Hotstar Access Period”).

2.2.         From 1 November 2020 to 4 April 2021 only, new or re-contracting customers who have successfully subscribed to Indian+ with 12- or 24- month contract will receive a unique Hotstar voucher code sent to your registered mobile number or email with StarHub. For StarHub Indian+ customers with contract, the unique Hotstar voucher code may be sent within 24 hours of successful activation of Indian+ pass subscription.

2.3.         From 5 April 2021 until such time we may determine, new and re-contracting customers who have successfully subscribed to Indian+ with 12- or 24-month contract will receive an activation link, sent to your registered mobile number or email with StarHub, to nominate your mobile number through My StarHub App. This activation link will be sent within 24 hours of successful activation of Indian+ pass subscription.

2.4.         Subscription to Indian+ pass is a prerequisite for Hotstar. You must subscribe and maintain your subscription of Indian+ pass to continue with Hotstar.  During the Hotstar Access Period, if you unsubscribe your Indian+ pass or if your StarHub TV+ has been suspended (either voluntarily or due to dunning), the associated Hotstar access will be suspended at the same time. Your Hotstar access will resume when you restart your subscription of Indian+ pass or when you reactivate your StarHub TV+ subscription. The normal expiration date of Hotstar access will remain unchanged and will not be extended by the period(s) of any suspension(s). You will not receive a refund or rebate if you terminate your Indian+ pass within the Hotstar Access Period.

2.5.         Your Hotstar entitlement in one Indian+ pass subscription is a maximum of one Hotstar subscription.

2.6.         If your StarHub TV+ subscription is terminated for any reason whatsoever, your Hotstar access will be immediately and automatically terminated without further notice.

2.7.         If your StarHub TV+ subscription is transferred to another person for any reason whatsoever, your Hotstar access will be immediately and automatically terminated without further notice.
 

3.             For StarHub TV customers:

3.1.         From 1 April 2021 to 7 April 2021 only, StarHub TV customers who re-contract to any StarHub Entertainment Pass at $29.90 on a 2-year contract, are eligible to access Hotstar for a 12-month duration, while stocks last.

3.2.         Only valid for sign up or re-contract via StarHub Shop or Telesales.

3.3.         Re-contracting customers who have successfully re-contract to the eligible StarHub Entertainment Pass at $29.90 with a 24-month contract will receive a unique Hotstar voucher code sent to your registered mobile number or email with StarHub within 24 hours from the time your StarHub TV order is completed.

3.4.         Your Hotstar entitlement in one TV subscription is a maximum of one Hotstar subscription.
 

4.             For StarHub Post-paid Mobile customers or StarHub Fibre Broadband customers with 12 months on us:

4.1.         From 12 November 2020 to 31 March 2021 only, the following new and re-contracting Mobile or new Fibre Broadband customers are eligible to access Hotstar for a 12-month duration, while stocks last.

4.2        New and re-contracting customers who sign up for any Mobile+ $65/$95/$155 2-year plan or 4G $25/$50 SIM Only 1-year plan only. Only valid for sign up or re-contract via StarHub Shop, Telesales or Online Store. Not valid for change of plan via My StarHub App or My Account.

4.2.1      New and re-contracting customers will receive a unique Hotstar voucher code sent to the new StarHub mobile number or mobile number that you re-contracted within 24 hours from the time your mobile service order is completed.

4.2.2      If you have ported in your mobile number to StarHub, SMS with unique Hotstar voucher code will be sent to the ported in mobile number after the port in order has been completed.

4.3          New customers who sign up for 1Gbps or 2Gbps StarHub Fibre Broadband Service on a 2-year contract.

4.4        New customers will receive a unique Hotstar voucher code sent to your registered mobile number or email with StarHub within 24 hours from the time your Broadband order is completed.

4.5          Your Hotstar entitlement in one StarHub Mobile/StarHub Fibre Broadband subscription is a maximum of one Hotstar subscription.
 

5              For StarHub Post-paid Mobile customers or StarHub Fibre Broadband customers with 3 months of Hotstar on us:

5.1          From 5 April 2021 until such time we may determine, the following new and re-contracting Mobile or Fibre Broadband customers are eligible to enjoy 3 months of Hotstar on us (“Hotstar Offer”) with a minimum committed period of 12 months (“Promotional Minimum Period of Service”).

5.1.1          New and re-contracting customers who sign up for any Mobile+ $65/$95/$155 2-year plan or 4G $25/$50 SIM Only 1-year plan only. Only valid for sign up or re-contract via StarHub Shop, Telesales or Online Store. Not valid for change of plan via My StarHub App or My Account.

5.1.1.1      New and re-contracting customers will receive an activation link sent to the new StarHub mobile number or mobile number that you re-contracted within 24 hours from the time your mobile service order is completed.

5.1.1.2      If you have ported in your mobile number to StarHub, SMS with the activation link will be sent to the ported in mobile number after the port in order has been completed.

5.1.2    New and re-contracting customers who sign up for 1Gbps or 2Gbps StarHub Fibre Broadband Service on a 2-year contract.

5.1.2.1    New and re-contracting customers will receive an activation link sent to your registered mobile number or email with StarHub within 24 hours from the time your Broadband order is completed.

5.1.2.2    Your Hotstar entitlement in one StarHub Mobile/StarHub Fibre Broadband subscription is a maximum of one Hotstar subscription.

5.2          To activate your Hotstar Offer, you must create a Hotstar account and complete the Hotstar subscription process by nominate your mobile number via My StarHub App within 30 days from the date of receiving the activation link.  

5.3          If you do not activate your Hotstar Offer, your StarHub account will not be charged for the Hotstar subscription fee when the Hotstar Offer promotional period expires.

5.4          After your 3 months on us, you will pay the then-current price for Hotstar subscription thereafter. The Hotstar subscription is currently offered at $5.83/month (inclusive of GST) or such other rate as may be prescribed by us from time to time.

5.5          Monthly recurring charge of Hotstar subscription is non-prorated. You will be charged for the full month even if the Hotstar subscription is activated after the start of the month.

5.6        Your Hotstar subscription will remain active if your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service has been suspended voluntarily. The normal expiration date of Hotstar subscription will remain unchanged and will not be extended by the period(s) of any suspension(s).

5.7        Your Hotstar subscription will remain active until the end of the active billing month if your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service has been suspended due to dunning. Subsequently, your Hotstar subscription will be suspended until you reactivate your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband subscription. The normal expiration date of Hotstar subscription will remain unchanged and will not be extended by the period(s) of any suspension(s).

5.8        If the Hotstar subscription is terminated during the Promotional Minimum Period of Service, due to either an early termination or a transfer in ownership of your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service, an early termination charge (ETC) will be incurred based on the remaining contractual period multiplied by the monthly recurring charges of the Hotstar subscription terminated.   
 

6              For StarHub Pre-paid customers:

6.1          From 12 November 2020 to 31 March 2021 only, all StarHub Pre-paid customers who top up their pre-paid SIM with a minimum of $80 in a single transaction, are eligible to access Hotstar for a 12-month duration, while stocks last.

6.2          The unique Hotstar voucher code will be sent to the registered pre-paid number with StarHub within 24 hours.
 

7              Add-On Promotion:

7.1          StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband customers who are not re-contracting to eligible plans can choose to subscribe to Hotstar as an add-on service by paying the prevailing monthly recurring charges (“Hotstar Add-On”).

7.2          From 5 April 2021 until such time we may determine, the Hotstar Add-On Promotion provides you with 3 months of Hotstar on us. After your 3 months on us, you will pay the then-current price for Hotstar subscription thereafter. The Hotstar subscription is currently offered at $5.83/month (inclusive of GST) or such other rate as may be prescribed by us from time to time.

7.3          The minimum committed period for the Hotstar Add-On is 12 months (“Add-On Minimum Period of Service”).

7.4          Monthly recurring charge of Hotstar Add-On is non-prorated. You will be charged for the full month even if the Hotstar Add-On is subscribed after the start of the month.

7.5          Your Hotstar entitlement in one StarHub Mobile/StarHub Fibre Broadband subscription is a maximum of one Hotstar Add-On.

7.6          Your Hotstar Add-On will remain active if your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service has been suspended voluntarily. The normal expiration date of Hotstar Add-On will remain unchanged and will not be extended by the period(s) of any suspension(s).

7.7          Your Hotstar Add-On will remain active until the end of the active billing month if your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service has been suspended due to dunning. Subsequently, your Hotstar Add-On will be suspended until you reactivate your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband subscription. The normal expiration date of Hotstar Add-On will remain unchanged and will not be extended by the period(s) of any suspension(s).

7.8          If the Hotstar Add-On is terminated during the Add-On Minimum Period of Service, due to either an early termination or a transfer in ownership of your StarHub Mobile or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service, an early termination charge (ETC) will be incurred based on the remaining contractual period multiplied by the monthly recurring charges of the Hotstar Add-On terminated.   

7.9          Hotstar Add-On is only available through My StarHub App where eligible customers must opt in for Hotstar through My StarHub App.

7.10        To activate your Hotstar Add-On, you must complete the subscription process via My StarHub App.

7.11        This Promotion is not available to customers whose accounts are blacklisted or with outstanding balances.
 

8              Activation of Hotstar with a Hotstar voucher code

8.1          Your Hotstar Access Period will commence upon successful activation of Hotstar which must be completed by you in accordance with the activation process for the Hotstar service.

8.2          In order to access Hotstar as part of the Promotion, all customers who receive their Hotstar voucher code from 12 November 2020 to 22 December 2020 must redeem the Hotstar voucher code by 31 December 2020 (or such other dates as may be notified by us) in accordance with the Hotstar Terms and Conditions. All customers who receive their voucher code from 23 December 2020 to 31 March 2021 must redeem the Hotstar voucher code by 30 April 2021 (or such other dates as may be notified by us) in accordance with the Hotstar Terms and Conditions. StarHub TV customers who receive their voucher code from 8 to 9 April 2021 must redeem the Hotstar voucher code by 30 June 2021 (or such other dates as may be notified by us) in accordance with the Hotstar Terms and Conditions.

8.3          Your Hotstar Access Period starts from the day you successfully redeemed your Hotstar voucher code on Hotstar which shall be no later than 31 December 2020 or 30 April 2021 or 30 June 2021 (or such other dates as may be notified by us) depending on the period you receive your Hotstar voucher code stated in clause 8.2. After redeeming your Hotstar voucher code, you are required to download the Hotstar application from the respective stores on supported platforms or visit hotstar.com/sg to sign into Hotstar.

8.4          Your Hotstar entitlement in one Indian+ Pass/StarHub TV/StarHub Post-paid Mobile/StarHub Pre-paid/StarHub Fibre Broadband subscription is a maximum of one Hotstar subscription.

8.5          If you are eligible for multiple unique Hotstar voucher codes, you may redeem Hotstar access by nominating different mobile numbers.

8.6          You cannot transfer the unique Hotstar voucher code availed under this Promotion.  Each unique Hotstar voucher is made out to you specifically as StarHub customer and is not transferable to anyone else.

8.7          Lost or expired unique Hotstar voucher codes will not be refunded, replaced or extended. No correspondence, communication or claim will be entertained.
 

9              Activation of Hotstar via My StarHub App

9.1          Your Hotstar Access Period will commence upon successful activation of Hotstar which must be completed by you in accordance with the activation process for the Hotstar service.

9.2          In order to access Hotstar as part of the Promotion, all customers who receive the Hotstar activation link (from 5 April 2021 onwards) must create a Hotstar account and complete the Hotstar subscription process and follow instructions as may be communicated to you.

9.3          Your Hotstar Access Period starts from the day you successfully complete the activation process for Hotstar account by nominating your mobile number through My StarHub App within 30 days of eligibility notification via SMS and/or email based on our record(s) on file. After nominating your mobile number, you are required to download the Hotstar application from the respective stores on supported platforms or visit www.hotstar.com/sg to sign into Hotstar.

9.4          If you are eligible for multiple Hotstar access, you may redeem Hotstar access by nominating different mobile numbers.
 

10           Customer Support

10.1        Please contact StarHub only for queries related to (i) availing the Promotion and/or the eligibility criteria for the Promotion; (ii) activation or deactivation of the Hotstar service as part of the Promotion; (iii) general billing enquiries related to the Promotions or your account.

10.2        For any queries, disputes or concerns on the Hotstar service or the Hotstar app, you agree to contact Hotstar directly to address such queries, disputes or concerns.
 

11           Additional Terms for the Promotions

11.1        By participating in the Promotion, you agree to the disclosure of your personal data in the manner set out in these Promotion Terms & Conditions and/or any other terms and conditions as maybe advised by Hotstar. Once activated, your use of Hotstar service and the Hotstar application, including the features and functionality contained therein, will be subject to the Hotstar Terms of Use (https://www.hotstar.com/sg/terms-of-use) and Privacy Policy (https://www.hotstar.com/sg/privacy-policy) or such future URL as Hotstar may designate.

11.2        This Promotion is only available until such date as we may determine and may be rescinded at anytime.

11.3        This Promotion cannot be used to offset existing subscription charges or outstanding balances due to StarHub.

11.4        Any standalone subscription to the Hotstar service cannot be substituted for the Promotion.

11.5        This Promotion is non-exchangeable for cash or kind, is non-refundable and non-transferable.

11.6        Unless we specify otherwise, this Promotion is not available with other discounts, promotions, special packages or external offers.

11.7        StarHub reserves the right to determine your entitlement to this Promotion, and StarHub/Hotstar may reject any application for Hotstar, at its sole discretion.

11.8        StarHub further reserves the right to revise any of these Promotion Terms & Conditions (including price plans) at its sole discretion, at any time, without prior notice and without liability. Your use of the StarHub TV+ Service, StarHub Post-paid Mobile Service, StarHub Pre-paid Mobile Service and/or StarHub Fibre Broadband Service (as applicable) will constitute acceptance of these Promotion Terms and Conditions and the amendments thereof.

11.9        These Promotion Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Singapore and parties agree to be bound by and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
