    StarHub on Fibre.

Hello ultra-fast Fibre network.

It is time to make the switch from our cable network to our next-generation Fibre network. To help make the transition to Fibre smoother, here are some things you need to take note of.

 

You will need to make the transition to the Fibre network if you have:

  • A cable modem connected to PCs/routers for wired/wireless connection.
  • A cable TV connected to TV sets.
  • A cable Digital Voice home line connected to DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) phone(s).

Check what devices you own.

For StarHub TV customers

If the set-top box you have does not match the one on the right, you will have to make the switch.

For Broadband customers

If you own one of the following broadband cable modem, you will have to make the switch:

D-Link: DCM604, DCM712 or DCM3012G
CISCO: DPC3925
Linksys: WCG200 or SBG1000

For Digital Voice customers

If your Digital Voice home line is connected to the Voice-enabled Optical Network Terminal (VeONT), you are already on Fibre.

You will need a Termination Point.

To set up your Fibre service, you will require a Termination Point (TP) installed at a Fibre-ready household. Ideal Termination Point should be located within the living room, within 2m to a TV with at least 4 power sockets.


Setting up.

Depending on the service, you will require the following set-up.

Broadband TV Digital Voice

Router in a central location within the home for optimal wi-fi coverage

Additional data points will be required if additional routers are required to boost wi-fi coverage in different rooms

Termination Point to be near TV (within 2m) for the set-top box in the living room

For set-top boxes in the bedrooms, data points are required.

DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) phone to be connected to the ONT

StarHub will upgrade your services at no additional cost to your existing subscription plan but you will need the following equipment:

  • Optical Network Terminal (ONT) for Broadband and TV or Voice-enabled Optical Network Terminal (VeONT) for Broadband, TV and Digital Voice.
  • Router for Broadband connection and Wi-Fi
  • Fibre TV set-top box for TV service
