StarHub Rides the Asian Entertainment Wave with Viu
Only entertainment provider in Singapore offering bundled packages with Viu Premium, at no extra cost
Singapore, 28 April 2022 – Riding on the momentum to deliver world-class content across any screen, StarHub today announced a new collaboration with Viu, PCCW’s leading pan-regional over-the-top (OTT) video streaming service, for customers to catch over 12,000 hours of premium Asian content on StarHub TV+. As the only service provider in Singapore offering bundled services with Viu, StarHub Entertainment subscribers on Asian+ will score Viu Premium access without paying a single cent more. The savings amount to more than $190 over two years!
Coming on the back of StarHub’s DARE+ strategy reveal last year, this tie-up with Viu marks the 11th app to be fully integrated within StarHub TV+. No matter their broadband or mobile service provider, customers can simply log in to the StarHub TV+ platform or app and access their preferred programmes across any screen, on-the-go.
Viu boasts a large catalogue of premium Asian content in Singapore, including fan-favourite Korean, Chinese, Thai and Hong Kong dramas. With video ad-free, English-subtitled episodes ready as fast as five hours after telecast, Viu’s speedy turnaround sets it ahead of the competition and elevates StarHub’s library with the freshest Asian programmes. On StarHub TV+, Asian+ subscribers can catch their favourite Asian "live" channels and on-demand titles; before switching over to the Viu app, where they can stream the rib-tickling variety shows 2 Days 1 Night (Season 4) and Men on a Mission; electrifying Viu Originals Now, We Are Breaking Up and Again My Life; as well as popular Korean, Thai and Chinese dramas The Red Sleeve, F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, and To Fly With You. Based on the novel of the same name, The Red Sleeve is a royal court romance love story between a young prince and a court lady. After the brutal death of his father, young prince Yi San (Lee Jun-ho) is next in line to take the throne, once his cruel and ruthless grandfather dies. He meets Seong Deok-im (Lee Se Young) in court and falls in love with her. He tries to convince her to be his official concubine, but the strong-willed and free-spirited Deok-im refuses, knowing that the role would restrict her freedom.
