Singapore, 12 February 2016 – StarHub today announced its partnership with the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League as the Official Broadcaster. In addition to ‘live’ S.League coverage on Singapore’s only free sports channel, SuperSports Arena (StarHub TV Channel 112/205 and 76.25MHz), StarHub is committed to raising the profile of the league through the combined reach of its marketing campaigns, pay TV network and social media platforms.

Powered by production partner Astro Arena, StarHub’s new and improved coverage of the S.League will kick off with the Great Eastern Community Shield between Albirex Niigata FC (S) and Brunei DPMM FC ‘live’ at 7.30pm on 13 February 2016. In addition, a 30-minute highlights programme called The S.League Show will air every Wednesday at 10.30pm.

To showcase the league to sports fans, StarHub will also feature the latest news and profile S.League players on its daily sports news show SuperSports360. To further raise awareness among viewers who do not usually watch sports content, S.League trailers will be shown across the various channels on StarHub’s pay TV network, giving the league exposure to new viewer segments.

“StarHub and the S.League share the same mission to take the league to the next level. From our experience with the LionsXII, we have seen the heights that can be scaled when all stakeholders come together as one and we are truly excited by the possibilities which lie ahead of the S.League. This year is a crucial year for the S.League and we believe that it has made a progressive decision in choosing us as the broadcast partner. We look forward to working together with the rest of the football fraternity to bring some cheer back for S.League fans because football is nothing without the fans,” said Ms Jeannie Ong, Chief Strategic Partnership Officer of StarHub.

“StarHub has been a strong supporter of local football and we are proud to have StarHub as our Official Broadcaster. I am confident that with StarHub, even more fans will enjoy good and exciting football coverage from our S.League matches. StarHub will help us bring local football to all our homes,” said Football Association of Singapore President Mr Zainudin Nordin.

“We are pleased to be the production partner of the S.League. Astro has always been at the forefront of sports production in the region and our award-winning team’s expertise will complement StarHub’s TV reach in Singapore to provide a best-in-class viewing experience for S.League fans,” said CK Lee, Astro’s Head of Sports.

Further efforts to increase fan engagement will be rolled out progressively. These include contests to win S.League premiums, meet and greet sessions with players and social media campaigns.

SuperSports Arena is a free channel accessible on multiple devices such as TVs, smartphones and tablets. Non-StarHub TV customers can also access the channel by hooking their TVs to a cable point and tuning in to 76.25MHz.
