Singapore, 15 May 2014 – Come October, a wacky new game show promises to drive audiences across Singapore into peals of laughter. StarHub will be producing Silence!, Singapore’s most hush-hush game show that challenges contestants to perform a series of everyday tasks as silently as possible. Silence!, the first game show produced by StarHub will premiere on its self-packaged channels, E City (StarHub TV Channel 111/825) and SuperSports Arena (StarHub TV Channel 201).
The brainchild of Japan’s leading commercial broadcaster Fuji TV, Silence! is a new format owned by FremantleMedia, one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of television brands. Each episode of the game show sees two teams of three pitting against each other to overcome various tasks of escalating difficulty across three rounds of game play.
These tasks may be as easy as cracking an egg or as tricky as pushing a supermarket trolley piled high with rattling utensils. After three rounds, the victorious team will sail through to the final money round to stand a chance at winning S$10,000. The catch: all teams have to be as silent as possible while performing the designated tasks. The competing teams must not trigger the Decibel Meter also known as the Silence-O-Meter on stage.
Teaming up once again to entertain viewers with their wit and engaging personas are popular local artistes Adrian Pang and Michelle Chia. A natural comedian, Adrian is an accomplished actor and host, whilst Michelle is one of Singapore’s most talented artistes known for her sunny disposition. Last paired together in 2009, viewers can look forward to watching the sizzling onscreen chemistry between the two hosts when they reunite in Silence!.
