Singapore, 10 December 2014 – The champagne flowed freely at the Arts House as StarHub swept ten awards – five Golds and five Silvers – at the 2014 PromaxBDA Asia Awards.

Campaigns for sports content accounted for seven of the ten awards, cementing StarHub’s position as the home of sports. Leading the pack was StarHub’s revamped sports offering with the rebranded SuperSports channels clinching Golds for “Best Out-Of-House Station Image” and “Best On-Air Ident”; and a Silver for “Best Animation”. The revamp saw StarHub’s in-house sports channels upgraded to High Definition and housed under a single SuperSports brand to provide a better viewing experience. The on-air idents featured extreme close-up shots of sporting moments such as when a tennis ball is struck by the strings of a racquet or when a basketball goes through the net. These closer perspectives reinforced the point that the new SuperSports channels would bring sports fans so close to the action that they could feel the energy, the adrenaline and the passion behind every movement.

“Winning ten awards at PromaxBDA Asia is a remarkable achievement and we are honoured to be recognised among the best in the region,” said Ms Lee Soo Hui, Head of Media Business Unit, StarHub. “Quality creative work complements our best-in-class range of content, elevating the viewing experience and delighting our customers in the process.”

The promo spot for the US Open 2014 on SuperSports 1 (StarHub TV Channel 201) took home Golds for “Best Sports Promo” and “Best Sports Campaign” while the video tribute Lions XII – The Legend Returns won two Silvers for “Best Out-Of-House Station Image” and “Best Viral Promo Or Video”. Rounding off the list of winners for sports content was SuperSports Arena Vignettes – Running, which won Silver for “Best Interstitial”.

Proving the quality in creative work extends beyond sports, StarHub’s Video On-Demand campaign for the Hong Kong film Colours won two awards – a Gold for “Best Movie Campaign” and a Silver for “Best Movie Promo”.

“The victories in the ‘Best Movie Campaign’ and ‘Best Movie Promo’ categories are equally sweet as they are testament to the range of creative talent in StarHub. Just as how our content line-up cuts across multiple genres, I am proud that our team has excelled in creative work across categories,” Ms Lee added.

Held at The Arts House on 4 December 2014, the PromaxBDA Asia Awards are widely-regarded as the industry’s leading competition honouring outstanding promotion, marketing and design work in television and video content. The entries submitted for the awards were judged on overall creativity, production quality, and results in achieving marketing objectives.
