Pamper your taste buds and discover the recipe for culinary genius with popular celebrity chefs from four food and lifestyle channels on StarHub TV

Singapore, 2 August 2012 – Discover how history and culture can be defining ingredients in a culinary celebration with Hubalicious – The Heritage Food Trail, proudly presented by StarHub.

Hubalicious, StarHub’s experiential food and lifestyle event, aims to bring glorious food to life. From 12 September, Hubalicious – The Heritage Food Trail takes consumers on an intimate epicurean journey with four of their favourite TV celebrity chefs from StarHub TV’s quartet of food and lifestyle channels.

Customers will get to savour mouth-watering creations conceived from the myriad backgrounds of four colourful culinary maestros: Aarti Sequeira from Food Network Asia (StarHub TV Channel 433) of Indian heritage, Belgian Emmanuel Stroobant of the Asian Food Channel (StarHub TV Channel 435), Canadian Bob Blumer of TLC (StarHub TV Channel 427) and Irish Rachel Allen of BBC Lifestyle (StarHub TV Channel 432).

Beyond the palate, customers will also get to interact with the chefs through unique encounters and exclusive demonstrations. They may even learn their secrets with hands-on participation, before partaking in a sumptuous meal influenced by the star chefs’ own culinary upbringing.

“StarHub is all about the convergence of experiences and the elevation of the senses,” said Ms Iris Wee, Vice President of Home Solutions & Content, StarHub. “From watching food and lifestyle content on StarHub TV channels, they now get to meet with their idols and indulge in their creations firsthand. We chose the theme of Heritage as we felt that the chefs’ backgrounds were instrumental in distinguishing their recipes and cooking styles.”

Participants can, for instance, expect an invigorating injection of Arabic and Indian spices in Aarti’s American dishes, a surreal collaboration of ingredients artfully presented by adventurous Bob, modern European cuisine with international influences from globe-trotter chef Emmanuel and surprisingly light and diverse Irish fare from the multi-talented Rachel.

Hubalicious – The Heritage Food Trail will kick off on 12 September 2012 and takes place at scintillating venues such as ONE°15 on Sentosa, the iconic Jewel Box and the soon-to-be-opened W Hotel. Tickets, priced from $128, are on sale from SISTIC from 7 August 2012. StarHub customers will be able to enjoy an early bird discount of 15% when they purchase the tickets by 24 August 2012. Please visit www.starhub.com/hubalicious for more information. All dinner events come with wine pairing.

Hubalicious  – The Heritage Food Trail Chef Biographies

Yummy Sutra – It’s pAarti Time!

Born in Mumbai, raised in Dubai, journalism in the United States and then winner of the sixth season of Food Network’s reality television show, Food Network Star… Aarti Sequeira’s background is as colourful and exciting as the spices she mixes into her Indian-influenced culinary creations.

From her father’s trips to the fish market and cooking by her mother’s side as a child to winning the Food Network competition in 2010, Aarti made her mark and landed her own TV culinary show – Aarti Party. Her American cooking reflects her bubbly personality, sense of humour and Indian influences.

Heritage meets Surreal

Culinary adventurer, chef, artist and seven time Guinness World Record holder Bob Blumer is one of today’s most imaginative food personalities. As a chef, Blumer transforms ordinary ingredients into wow-inspiring dishes through simple cooking methods and whimsical presentations that have become his culinary trademark.

Blumer is the creator and host of the television series Surreal Gourmet, and Glutton for Punishment, and a producer and host of the recently debuted World’s Weirdest Restaurants. He is the author of six acclaimed cookbooks. His most recent book Glutton for Pleasure was published in October 2010. Publishers Weekly summed it up: “equal parts memoir, lavish art book, multi-genre soundtrack and culinary tour de force”

Remaining rooted to his Canadian beginnings, Los Angeles-based Bob serves as an Ambassador to Second Harvest in Toronto, spreading the word about food rescue and hunger relief.

Culinary Tales of a Belgian Chef

Mention the restaurant Saint Pierre and food connoisseurs immediately think of fine French dining, divine beverages, artful interiors and esteemed Belgian chef, Emmanuel Stroobant!

Apart from his status as an expert in classical French cuisine, the strikingly stylish Chef Stroobant is also a passionate traveler and frequently draws inspiration from his globe-trotting experiences to create new signature dishes, both at home and at his many restaurants. Having cooked his way through Belgium, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, this award-winning international culinary talent is also the author of popular food and wine pairing cookbook, Vine Dining: White, which won ‘Best in the World’ at the Gourmand World Media Awards.

Chef Stroobant now stars in the AFC Original Production, 36 Ways to Live, in which he shares 36 recipes that have made a mark on his life, whilst teaching viewers how to eat, live and enjoy life to the fullest.

An Irish Love Affair

Rachel Allen truly personifies the food experience: she honed her culinary skills growing food, preparing food, cooking food, eating food and, most importantly—Singaporeans will agree here!—enjoying food.

At 18, Rachel left home in Dublin to attend the world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School.  Today she is affectionately described by the BBC as ‘the Irish cooking queen’. A super busy bee, Rachel is not only a TV chef, best-selling author and a journalist, she is also a mother of three young children. Yet she still finds time to teach the next generation of chefs at Ballymaloe.

Rachel defines Irish food and cooking with the amazing products they have: dairy, meats and meat products, cheeses, fresh fruits like berries and root vegetables like cabbages, potatoes, parsnips and turnips.
