Singapore, 22 May 2011 – StarHub, an employer that passionately supports healthy, well-balanced living, walked the talk on Sunday morning, rallying over 320 of its employees and their family members to take to the streets at the CommChest Heartstrings Walk 2011 held at Marina Bay.

In addition to fielding the largest contingent for the 4km Charity Fun Walk and a team for the inaugural vertical marathon, StarHub supported the fundraising event as a Presenting Partner and donated $300,000 from its Sparks Fund to the Community Chest.

Mr Tan Tong Hai, Chief Operating Officer of StarHub, explained, "StarHub is a strong proponent of healthy living as we believe that the well-being of our employees is key to increasing their productivity and engagement with the company. We are pleased to support the Heartstrings Walk by making a donation towards this good cause. At the same time, we are excited to have the participation of our employees and their family members for the mass walk event as such events help build camaraderie among employees and go towards creating a fun and cohesive work culture."

Many StarHub employees were dressed in bright outfits in StarHub colours, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Ms Jacqueline Lim, a confidential secretary at StarHub, was one of the many StarHub employees participating in the Charity Fun Walk. She enthused, "I'm happy to support this charity event and share this beautiful Sunday morning at Marina Bay with my husband, sons and colleagues at StarHub. I'm glad that my employer offers such meaningful opportunities for staff to interact outside of the office environment."
