Singapore, 9 July 2010 – Get closer to the riveting, pulse-pounding football clash between Netherlands and Spain when StarHub and Marina Bay Sands partner to deliver all the action of the final match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in glorious 3-D.

Selected Marina Bay Sands’ Premier Advantage members and StarHub corporate customers will be invited to watch the Oranje and La Roja square off at Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium, with the winners becoming only the eighth nation to claim the coveted crown. The final match will be screened on a large 3-D projector screen measuring 7m by 3m at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre on 12 July 2010, at 2.30am. This is the first time StarHub is screening a FIFA World Cup match in 3-D.

Mr Tan Tong Hai, StarHub’s Chief Operating Officer, said, “It’s always been a dream for football fans in Singapore to watch the World Cup ‘live’ and in person. Delivering the World Cup final match in 3-D brings that dream one step closer. Football fans can experience the immediacy and ‘presence’ of the football players on the field, with Netherlands and Spain going all out with one lifting the World Cup trophy for the first time ever. We are certainly looking forward to getting feedback from our viewers on the 3-D technology as it will help shape our 3-D content strategy for the future. StarHub is very pleased to partner Marina Bay Sands in bringing the latest broadcast technologies to their guests and our customers. We are confident that this will be the first of many future collaborations between us.”
