Singapore, 29 April 2010 – Mother’s Day is a special day to acknowledge mothers’ unconditional love, support and contribution to the family. This year, StarHub has lined up a special gift which promises to bring an enjoyable experience to all mothers and their families!
To celebrate Mother’s Day, StarHub is offering a free preview of Ruyi Hokkien Channel On Demand from 7 May to 21 May 2010. Ruyi Hokkien Channel On Demand showcases the best and latest Hokkien dramas, variety and music programmes from Taiwan, in the original Hokkien language.
During this preview period, viewers can enjoy the first five episodes of three selected dramas and the first three episodes of eight selected variety and infotainment titles. Programme highlights include blockbuster dramas such as <夜市人生> (Night Market Life), <神机妙算刘伯温> (Liu Bo Wen), <娘家> (A Place Called Home), infotainment programmes like <草地状元> (Taiwan’s Outstanding People), <欧吉桑游台湾> (Travelling Around Taiwan), <台湾尚青> (The Greenest Formosa) and <宝岛渔很大> (Fun Fishing).
Viewers can also look forward to the variety show <猪哥会社> (Zhu Ge’s Return), which set a record for its high ratings during its run in Taiwan. <猪哥会社> marked iconic host 猪哥亮 (Zhu Ge Liang)’s first show in many years since his return to the Hokkien entertainment industry, and engages viewers with a series of singing performances and special guests appearing in each episode.
The free preview is open to all StarHub TV customers using a HubStation or HubStation HD (High Definition) set-top box. To enjoy the preview, customers simply need to press Channel 852 and select “Free Preview”. Thereafter, they can select the complimentary programme of their choice.

StarHub has arranged for the artistes to meet and greet their fans at roadshows to be held at Tiong Bahru Plaza at 4pm on 8 May and at 1pm on 9 May.
