Singapore , 26 May 2009 – StarHub will inject more excitement into the coming June holidays with a two-week free preview of 16 channels via its pay TV platform. From 30 May, 6am to 14 June 2009, all cable-ready TV households in Singapore, regardless of whether they subscribe to StarHub TV, can look forward to enjoying a series of quality English content from StarHub TV’s Education, Kids, Lifestyle and Entertainment Basic and Basic Upsize Groups on StarHub’s Preview Channel (Channel 01) for free!

The 16 channels included in this free preview are Animax, Asian Food Channel, AXN, Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, Discovery Travel & Living, Disney Channel, FX, HISTORY, JimJam, National Geographic Channel, Nickelodeon, Playhouse Disney, Star World, The Style Network and Universal Channel. The Preview Channel will run 24 hours daily for the period of the free preview, with a ‘live’ feed extracted from the 16 English channels carried by StarHub.

“Through this two-week free preview, we hope to give viewers an opportunity to sample the wide variety of quality English programmes on StarHub TV. The June holidays is a period for parents to spend time with their kids thus we have specially selected the channels for preview across the education, kids, lifestyle and entertainment genres so that both kids and parents can have an enjoyable bonding time watching the programmes on StarHub TV,” said Ms Ong Bee Lian, StarHub's Vice President of Home Solutions.

Viewers can refer to the StarHub Online Programme Guide at www.starhub.com/tv for a programme schedule of the free preview. Existing subscribers of StarHub TV can enjoy the Preview Channel on Channel 01, while non-subscribers can tune their TV sets manually to UHF 527.25 Mhz. The manual tuning-in procedures will vary according to different TV set models, and viewers are advised to refer to their TV operating manuals for specific tuning instructions.

The generic tuning-in procedures are:

- Select an unused channel on the TV unit.

- Press the TUNNING button on the TV remote control or at the front panel of the TV unit, commonly labeled as [PRESET], [INSTALL], [SET], [P/C] or [MENU>TUNE>MANUAL]. If the TV unit does not have any of these buttons, please refer to the TV manual.

- Start tuning by pressing or selecting the VOLUME +/- button or the CHANNEL UP/DOWN button on the TV remote control until the Free Preview channel appears on the screen.

- Next, press the STORE or MEM button on the TV remote control to store the tuning.

- Press the MENU or PRESET button to end or exit the tuning procedure.

StarHub TV Basic Groups subscribers who upgrade to Basic Upsize Groups are able to enjoy 50% off its monthly subscription fees for the first three months if they sign up before 30 June 2009.
