Singapore, 8 January 2009 – StarHub today announced that the company, together with its partner Huawei, has commenced the upgrade of its mobile broadband network to HSPA Plus (HSPA+), following a successful live demonstration of its capability to deliver 21Mbps on the downlink. This is 1.5 times higher than its current network capacity of 14.4Mbps.

This development is in addition to StarHub’s increased uplink network capacity to 5.76Mbps nationwide.

By 2Q-2009, StarHub’s mobile broadband network will be HSPA+ ready for commercial rollout nationwide.

Today, StarHub continues to boast the highest mobile broadband network capacity in Singapore, at 14.4Mbps (downlink) and 5.76Mbps (uplink).
