Fire up your football passion with La Liga exclusively on StarHub TV

Singapore , 27 August 2009 – StarHub continues to bring more good news for local sports fans! StarHub announced today that it has secured the exclusive broadcast rights for La Liga (Spanish Primera Liga) for the upcoming three seasons till 2012.

Kicking off this Sunday morning, StarHub TV Sports Group customers will be able to catch the exciting action of top European footballers - Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Lionel Messi, with up to four ‘live’ La Liga matches weekly on Football Channel (Channel 27), SuperSports (Channel 22) and SuperSports Plus (Channel 21). In addition, from 12 September, all ‘live’ matches will also be available in High Definition (HD) on Sports HD (Channel 304). (Please refer to Appendix A for the schedule of upcoming matches.)

Viewers can also look forward to additional La Liga programming such as magazine programmes La Liga – which gives a review of the weekend, with standings, results, best goals, best players, worst players and the worst plays of the week, and La Liga Report – which previews the upcoming fixtures, including player profiles, fans, press conferences and match of the week.

To give Sports Group customers more value and flexibility, StarHub will also be adding a new On Demand Channel – La Liga On Demand in September, to allow viewers using HubStation or HubStation HD to catch selected matches at their convenience if they missed the ‘live’ telecast, at no additional cost. Viewers can also access information such as live statistics, scores, fixtures and analysis via eTV (enhanced TV) during the ‘live’ telecast of the matches from October onwards.

In addition, StarHub MaxOnline and Mobile post-paid 3G customers who are subscribers of StarHub TV Sports Group can catch selected ‘live’ matches via StarHub TV Online and StarHub TV on Mobile for free.
