Singapore, 2 May 2008 – StarHub today announced that its mobile broadband service over its advanced high-speed 3.5G mobile network will be offered free to subscribers of MaxOnline’s new ‘Plus’ range of residential broadband plans. This enhancement delivers the most complete in- and out-of-the-home broadband experience inSingapore, with an unbeatable value offer to new MaxOnline customers.
From 3 May 2008, new customers of any of the three MaxOnline ‘Plus’ plans will experience the same value-for-money and convenient features as the regular MaxOnline Express, Premium and Ultimate plans but with the added bonus of having free mobile broadband access at various downllnk and uplink speeds as part of their overall package. MaxOnline ‘Plus’ customers will enjoy easy home networking, unlimited broadband access and free Digital Voice service on the MaxOnline service while having truly unlimited mobile data access with no additional local data access charges on StarHub’s free mobile broadband service.
StarHub’s High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) network is Singapore’s fastest and most sophisticated mobile network, and a perfect companion to StarHub’s ultra-high speed cable broadband network. While the mobile network is architected to offer up to 14.4Mbps, StarHub is offering mobile broadband speeds of up to 7.2Mbps on the downlink and up to 1.9Mbps on the uplink.
In a fantastic deal for new MaxOnline customers, the ‘Plus’ plans will even be offered at the same subscription price as the regular MaxOnline plans, and comes with their own promotional offers and Hub Club discounts, wherever possible. In conjunction with the launch of StarHub’s new MaxOnline Plus plans, StarHub is also introducing a low-tier mobile broadband plan. Called MaxMobile SurfLite, the service offers truly unlimited mobile data access at a low monthly promotional subscription of $27.10 (Usual price: $38.72 with GST). This plan offers up to 2Mbps on the downlink and 512Kbps on the uplink, with a HSPA enabled modem.
