Singapore, 27 June 2008 – StarHub, together with its international and regional content partners, bagged as many as 67 awards – 24 Golds, 20 Silvers and 23 Bronzes, at the prestigious 2008 Promax and BDA World Gold Awards held in New York recently.

StarHub’s in-house Multi-Platform Solutions Unit clinched one Gold and three Bronzes for its entries in Promax and BDA World Gold’s "Sound Design", "Art Direction & Design: ID", "Holiday/Seasonal/Special Event Program Campaign" and "Sports Program Promotion Campaign (Not a Live Event/Game)" categories.

One of the entries that impressed the judges was its "US PGA 2007" promo spot, which garnered Gold in the "Sound Design" category. Using the different sounds one usually hears on a golf course – the familiar "swoosh" of a swing, the "cluck" sound when the club meets the ball, and the "thud" of the ball in the hole – the promo spot transports the audience into the atmosphere of the US PGA Championship.

These accolades are strong reflections of StarHub’s world-class quality in terms of programming and content.

"StarHub, being the largest and preferred pay TV operator in Singapore, offers the most extensive suite of content via over 150 channels. The recent wins by our in-house team of creative professionals and cable TV affiliates bear a strong testament to StarHub’s commitment to bring the best TV viewing experience to our customers, combining the best content with award-winning creative works," said Mr Du Da Sheng, StarHub's Vice President of Multi-Platform Solutions Unit.

Some of the award-winning channels on StarHub Digital Cable include Animal Planet, ANIMAX, AXN, CNN, Discovery Channel, Disney Channel, ESPN, HBO, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL, SET, STAR Sports, SuperSports and VV Drama. SuperSports and VV Drama are StarHub’s self-packaged channels, offering the best of sports and Asian entertainment.

The PROMAX & BDA Awards recognise excellence in promotions, marketing, and design of electronic media, and are regarded as the highest accolades for professionals in the electronic and broadcast media industry. The entries submitted for the awards were judged on overall creativity, production quality, and results in achieving marketing objectives.
