Singapore, 30 April 2008 – StarHub today announced its official appointment by NTT Singapore to provide its Global Super Link (GSL) Service to Singapore businesses that require fast, convenient broadband connections to their offices around the world.
With the availability of GSL, StarHub’s enterprise customers will now be able to choose an ultra-high speed and cost-effective broadband solution to meet their growing international bandwidth needs, empowering them to deliver next-generation applications such as IP, video, data, and other multimedia services easily and securely.
Mr. Adit Harinasuta, Head of StarHub’s Services and Solutions said, "The demand for high-speed broadband connectivity has been growing exponentially in Singapore as expanding multimedia data and file sizes require higher and higher throughputs. GSL is a high-quality international broadband service that’s easy to implement and tremendously scaleable to meet every company’s IP needs. CIOs looking for an alternative to traditional ATM and IPLC services that is just as cost-effective and much easier to implement should look at our GSL service which has the backing of NTT’s world-class network support. We are excited to extend our close partnership with NTT Singapore."
NTT Singapore recognised the synergies between both companies. Mr. Yasuharu Sato, head of Global Network Division of NTT Singapore said, "StarHub has always had a close relationship with NTT Singapore as they have been successfully providing and supporting our Arcstar product line. With their strong corporate sales team and their extensive relations in the business community, we feel confident that they will deliver the same level of success for the GSL Service."
GSL is a fully-managed Ethernet-based data transmission service linking Singapore to major cities around the world such as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing, Taiwan, San Jose, New York, Los Angeles, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Paris.
GSL will enable enterprises based here and with offices around the world, to extend their Local Area Network (LAN) environment globally in a cost-effective way. While the service delivers as standard packages high bandwidth between 10Mbps and 100Mbps, it is also capable of delivering up to 1Gbps upon demand. GSL supports multipoint-to-multipoint, multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) connectivity. Multiple Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are available, as well as a comprehensive Web Traffic Report Service which allows IT personnel to monitor GSL network performance on a 24 x 7 basis.
