StarHub's i-mode users are first in the world to get the Nokia N70 i-mode enabled handset

Singapore, 23 June 2006 – StarHub, Singapore’s integrated info-communications provider and exclusive i-mode operator, and Nokia, a world leading player in mobile communications, today announced the launch of Nokia N70 multimedia phone that supports the i-mode service in Singapore. Singapore is the first i-mode market in the world to introduce the Nokia N70 i-mode enabled handset to customers.

Based on the Nokia N70, the world's number one selling 3G mobile device in the past few months and which was recently awarded the "Best 3G Mobile Phone" at the Asian Mobile News Awards 2006, the Nokia N70 i-mode enabled handset comes in a unique sleek black and silver casing and will be made exclusively available to StarHub customers only.

This new offering – a first in the world – combines the power of multimedia and mobile Internet in your hands, enabling customers to enjoy the best of both worlds and do more on Nokia N70 than ever before. In addition to a one-button access to StarHub's i-mode services, the other key features of Nokia N70 include:

  • 3G and Tri-band
  • Two-way video call capability
  • 2 megapixel camera (1600 x 1200 pixels) with 20x digital zoom and integrated flash
  • Download and play multimedia files (video and music)
  • Up to 22 MB of internal dynamic memory
  • Expandable memory: 128 MB Hot Swap Reduced Size MMC
  • Smartphone with Symbian Operating System

Retailing from S$288 with a two-year StarHub voice plan with Unlimited i-mode Data Plan ($10.50 monthly for unlimited i-mode data access), Nokia N70 will be available at all StarHub Shops and Exclusive Partners’ outlets from 24 June 2006. In the second half of the year, StarHub’s i-mode subscribers will have even more choices of an i-mode mobile phone from other world’s leading handset manufacturers such as Motorola and Sony Ericsson.
