StarHub Is The One-Stop For Top European Soccer Tournament

 

Singapore, 17 May 2004 – With the UEFA EURO 2004TM kicking off on 12 June 2004, StarHub has lined up a host of offerings across multiple platforms, to enable customers to immerse themselves in the European Championship fever.

 

StarHub CableTV will offer a dedicated channel for UEFA EURO 2004TM from 12 June to 4 July 2004. Soccer fans can catch live coverage of all 31 matches on StarHub CableTV Channel 21, of which 23 matches are exclusive to the pay TV operator.  All these matches will be re-telecast on the channel during primetime, for the convenience of local viewers.

 

In addition to the live and encore telecasts of all 31 matches, StarHub CableTV Channel 21 will also carry match previews and post-match reviews, where viewers will be treated to bonus content such as the players’ warm-up sessions, team and player profiles, match statistics, flash interviews and clips of press conferences.  The channel will also provide Daily and Weekly highlights coverage of the tournament.

StarHub’s UEFA EURO 2004TM offering is not restricted to its cable TV platform. From 5 June 2004, StarHub Mobile customers can download official EURO 2004 content from www.starhub.com/gee. They can also access the latest news, features, scores, telecast schedules and odds information of the European championship via SMS and MMS. The charges for each SMS and MMS received are $0.21 and $0.32 respectively. To enjoy cost savings, StarHub Mobile users can opt for Euro Alerts, which enables them to receive these updates throughout the entire EURO 2004 period, for a one-time fee of $5.25 (SMS updates) or $7.35 (MMS updates).

 

For the first time, StarHub is offering the Euro Soccer Prediction, whereby mobile users can receive analyses from soccer experts on the possible outcomes of the matches. Charges range from $3.15 to $5.25 per prediction.

 

Mobile users holding handsets with streaming capability can also catch the EURO 2004 action on their mobile phones via video streaming.

 

In addition to its cable TV and mobile offerings, StarHub has introduced limited edition UEFA EURO 2004 TM Green Prepaid Top-Up Cards featuring European players such as Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Francesco Totti. StarHub has also launched a set of limited edition HomeConnect Prepaid International Calling Cards featuring star players such as Michael Owen, David Beckham, and Zinedine Zidane. Both the Green Prepaid Top-Up Cards and HomeConnect Prepaid International Calling Cards are available for sale at all StarHub Shops, Preferred Partner outlets, as well as 7-Eleven and Watsons outlets islandwide.
