StarHub Mobile postpaid customers are first in Singapore to benefit from this service on a complimentary basis

Singapore, 26 March 2004 - Local mobile phone users can finally enjoy missed call alerts at no hidden costs, thanks to StarHub's new Missed Call Alerts service.  This service allows StarHub Mobile postpaid customers to receive SMS alerts when they miss their calls from Singapore while roaming overseas.

From 26 March 2004, all StarHub Mobile postpaid customers will be provisioned with the Missed Call Alerts service. The service is available free of charge to StarHub Mobile postpaid customers, with no registration, subscription or usage fees.

"StarHub is the only mobile operator in Singapore to offer overseas Missed Call Alerts to customers at no hidden costs. We decided to launch this service after listening to our customers’ feedback,” said Mr Chan Kin Hung, Head of Mobile Services, StarHub. “We are always in tune with the needs of our customers, and we recognise how mobile phone users are increasingly dependent on their handsets for business discussions or simply to keep in touch with their loved ones. Many of our customers travel overseas, for work or for leisure, and it is important for them to stay contactable at all times, in the most convenient and cost-effective way possible.”

When overseas, a customer may miss a call due to various reasons such as not wanting to be disturbed due to time differences. When the incoming call is unanswered, the StarHub Mobile postpaid customer will receive an SMS informing him of the missed call number and the time of the call (according to the Singapore time), at no cost.

Whenever the user turns off his mobile phone or is unreachable while roaming overseas, a summary of missed call numbers will be stored for up to 48 hours and sent to him the next time his phone is turned on.  Each summary can list up to nine missed call numbers so that customers can be informed of these calls at one glance. StarHub Mobile postpaid customers can receive up to 20 alerts daily.

Missed Call Alerts will be sent only for calls originating from Singapore, with the exceptions of calls made from public payphones, PABX (Hunting lines) or lines with caller number non-display ability.

More information on StarHub’s Missed Call Alerts can be found at www.starhub.com/mobile. Customers who wish to deactivate the Missed Call Alerts service can also visit this website for instructions on how to deactivate and reactivate via SMS or Unstructured Supplementary Services Data (USSD).   They may also contact StarHub’s Customer Service hotline 1633 or +65 68201633 (when overseas).
