StarHub Delivers Powerful Suite of Financial Data Applications For Financial and Business Communities; Also Offers Enterprise Customers BlackBerry With Chinese Language Support For The First Time In Singapore

Singapore, 7 December 2004 – StarHub, Singapore's pioneer in BlackBerry® services since May 2003, today announced the availability of a suite of real-time financial data applications to BlackBerry Enterprise customers.

These applications allow traders, investors and institutions to wirelessly access Comstock [i] and be provided with real-time market data such as market indices and their respective exchanges, currencies, futures and commodities via their BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds™. Equities and US financial news are also provided for much needed market research. The applications are provided exclusively through Outercurve [ii] , a leading global provider of wireless handheld business solutions.

“With the strong economic recovery in the region, it is imperative for Singapore investors to have the latest financial information at their fingertips anywhere anytime, in order to stay current with the financial markets,” said Mr Chan Kin Hung, Head of Mobile Services, StarHub. “StarHub’s financial data applications with the easy-to-use BlackBerry handheld is a must-have tool for business professionals to retrieve quote and graph information for a particular equity, currency or future anywhere, anytime easily. Through the BlackBerry push-based technology, business professionals can continuously keep in touch with their customers and the office with all the financial data that is relevant to them.”

Users are able to customise ten watch lists that track the performance of up to 300 instruments or indices that they would like to monitor simultaneously. In addition, users can select up to ten indices or instructions to display on the main screen of their BlackBerry handhelds - updates are pushed every 60 seconds, ensuring the timely delivery of the market information that they need the most. Audible tunes will ring each time an alert is triggered and a streaming ticker will display symbols and pricing that correspond to those alerts.

Each package will vary in price depending on the requirements of the customer, but prices for each package start from S$120 a month onwards. These applications will be available on three BlackBerry handhelds – the BlackBerry 7230™, the BlackBerry 7730™ and the new BlackBerry 7290™.

A separate package is also available for an on-demand feature that extends the proven, unsurpassed worldwide news and analytics of The Financial Times to StarHub Enterprise customers. Called ‘FT.com for BlackBerry’, users will benefit from the broad spectrum of Financial Times news content and business indicators, while improving their decision-making capabilities while on the go. This package starts at S$25 a month.
