StarHub Extends Reach of its Push Email Service to the Property Sector

Singapore, 17 August 2004 – StarHub, Singapore's pioneer in BlackBerry services since May 2003, and ERA Singapore, the most established real estate organisation in Singapore since 1982, today announced a collaboration that will encourage ERA members to access property listings anytime, anywhere through StarHub's BlackBerry service.

This was announced in conjunction with ERA’s launch of ERA 24PS, a 24-Hour Property Search Mobile Office system that allows real estate specialists to access the most updated database of property listings in order that their clients can have the latest information on availability, pricing and location of commercial and residential properties. This move – a milestone in the real estate brokerage industry - highlights ERA’s commitment in using technology to enhance customer experience and lead the market.

“At ERA, we constantly look for ways to provide additional value-added services to our customers and associates. ERA 24PS offers a useful tool to help ERA real estate specialists stay competitive in the Singapore property market,” said Mr Jack Chua, president of ERA. “In addition, through real time access via the BlackBerry, our ERA real estate specialists will have the most up-to-date information that is crucial to their prospects anytime, anywhere in the world 24/7. They also get the benefit of having their emails pushed to their wireless handheld so that they stay in touch with clients all the time.”

ERA will continue to introduce this service in other Asia-Pacific countries such as Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, where over 8,200 ERA real estate specialists are operating. They will also be able to access ERA’s extensive database of available properties in Singapore.

Since its launch a year ago, StarHub’s BlackBerry service has proven to be the most popular PushMail solution for small and large businesses. The BlackBerry wireless platform allows StarHub’s users to manage their corporate email, data and Personal Information Management (PIM) tools through the use of a Java-based BlackBerry Wireless Handheld with integrated email, phone, SMS, web browser and organiser on the go. Emails and calendar appointments are automatically ‘pushed’ to and sent from the industry-proven handheld while its users are out of the office. Combined with StarHub’s extensive GPRS roaming network of over 80 international destinations, StarHub’s BlackBerry service is the premium choice for business customers on the move globally.

“This partnership with ERA Singapore reinforces StarHub’s focus on delivering value-added services to companies that demand a robust mobile network, an extensive GPRS global roaming service and at truly competitive rates,” said Dr Kaizad Heerjee, Head of Business Markets at StarHub. “By focusing on vertical industries and working with highly reputable, cutting-edge companies such as ERA, we have demonstrated that we can deliver an excellent experience for all our customers.”

The ERA 24PS service was developed locally over StarHub’s BlackBerry platform. Currently, ERA Singapore has around 1,300 ERA real estate specialists.
