Singapore, 28 May 2003 - StarHub is proud to be a General Sponsor of Singapore's premier annual arts event - the 2003 Singapore Arts Festival, which runs from 30 May to 22 June this year. Valued at S$122,500, this is more than double StarHub's sponsorship of S$45,000 for Singapore Arts Festival 2002.

As a General Sponsor, StarHub's sponsorship in kind entails a provision of 1,050 spots on StarHub Cable TV for the Singapore Arts Festival TV Commercial, thereby generating publicity for the arts group and raising awareness of the performances amongst local viewers.

"StarHub's steadfast support for the arts scene, especially amidst economic uncertainties, is entrenched in the Company's belief that businesses have a responsibility to give back to the community. Through its support for artistic development, StarHub empowers Singaporeans with a greater awareness and appreciation of the arts," said Mr Patrick Lim, Director of Advertising Sales and Multimedia at StarHub.

StarHub has been a strong supporter of local and international events such as jazz concerts (Claressa and Jeremy Monteiro) and movies (One Leg Kicking). In recognition of its unstinting support and contribution to the local arts scene, StarHub was awarded the Patron of the Arts Award for the first time in 2002.

Organised by the National Arts Council, the Singapore Arts Festival has established itself as one of Asia's leading arts festivals.
