Singapore, 25 Oct 2002 - Make a date with the biggest stars of the Tamil silver screen – Rajnikanth, Vijay, Kamal Hassan and Vikram.
From 16 Nov to 1 Dec 2002, StarHub CableTV brings four Tamil blockbusters to customers, in a special pay-per-view package. For just $20, Tamil movie buffs will get to watch the television premiere of Baba, Youth, Panchathanthiram and Saamurai on Ch 37.
Said Ms Sandie Lee, StarHub’s Vice President for Programming, Consumer Markets: "This is our first Tamil pay-per-view package. We were encouraged by the response to our earlier Hindi pay-per-view package in February and decided to design a Tamil blockbuster package for our Tamil customers.
"These four movies were a hit in India and Singapore during their recent theatrical runs and we are putting them on TV for the first time."
The biggest Tamil film of 2002, Baba, stars Rajnikanth. Here he plays an atheist who, by a twist of fate, acquires magical powers from a divine source and takes on crooked politicians. And Youth, Panchathanthiram and Saamurai are also among the must-watch Tamil movies of the year.
The movies, subtitled in English, will be scheduled back-to-back for up to 20 hours daily during the 16-day period, so customers can choose a timeslot most convenient for them.
