Singapore, 11 November 2002 - For the second consecutive year, StarHub was a glittering star at the recent 2nd Annual Call Centre Awards held on Friday, 8 November 2002. Despite stiff competition from other banking, telecommunications, insurance and transportation industries, StarHub emerged tops with a whopping 12 finalists in eight categories, out of which it clinched four awards!

Conferred by the Call Centre Council of Singapore (CCCS), the awards is the premium accolade for the Singapore call centre industry as it promotes and recognises the innovative development and adoption of call centre technologies and companies that provide quality customer services. Mr Ted Tan, Chairman of the Call Centre Council of Singapore said in the CCCS website (www.cccs.com.sg), the award winners would be ambassadors for Singapore in the regional call centre arena as their names would be synonymous with outstanding call centre organisations in Singapore.

This year, StarHub continued to impress the judges with 12 finalists in eight categories, finally winning four of the awards: Team Leader of the Year (Under 50 seats), Call Centre Champion (Under 50 seats), Call Centre Professional of the Year (Under 50 seats) and Call Centre Professional of the Year (Over 50 seats)

Nominees were judged through application submissions and interviews, and these were based on stringent criterion including customer service quality and operational efficiencies, amongst other key performance indicators.

StarHub’s name rang throughout the whole night as the finalists and champions of the awards were announced.

Said Mr Philip Tan, who heads up the Operations and Support functions for the StarHub Group, "We are delighted with the industry’s recognition of the hard work and dedication that our StarHubbers had put in, to achieve premium quality customer service and enable customer satisfaction in just over two years of operations. With these awards, we are motivated to keep on challenging the norm, to deliver the best in Customer Services to our customers. We thank the Call Centre Council of Singapore for their tremendous support for us and we look forward to continually delight our customers in the years to come!"

Mr Lim said, "Every interaction with customers is a new learning experience for me and I treasure each and every moment that I have with them.
