Activities Include Auctions of Two 1.8 Metre Giant Orc Statues; Fun-filled Competitions at Funan The IT Mall

 

Singapore, 25 June 2002 – StarHub Internet, HORIZONplanetIQ and Funan The IT Mall today announced that they will organise a Midnight Celebration Party and charity auctions of two exclusive Giant Orc statues, to coincide with the official launch of WarCraft 3 - the eagerly anticipated real-time strategy PC game from Blizzard Entertainment®. Each Giant Orc statue stands 1.8 metres tall and weighs 54 kilogrammes. The s tarting bid for each statue is S$100 and all proceeds will be donated to selected charity organisations in Singapore. Orcs are one of the four main races in the game.

 

Midnight Celebration Party and ‘Live’ Auction

The first auction – to be conducted ‘live’ - will be held at the WarCraft 3 Midnight Celebration Party in Funan The IT Mall Atrium on 2 July 2002 at 8pm. Gamers attending the party can expect a night of fun and excitement at the biggest PC game launch in Singapore! They will receive exclusive WarCraft 3 premiums, participate in numerous contests and enjoy on-stage entertainment, as well as get the chance to be the first gamers in Singapore to play WarCraft 3 at a dedicated gaming corner. All these activities will culminate in the Midnight Celebration Countdown, after which attendees can purchase a copy of the game at a special Midnight Celebration price of S$59.90 and get a free WarCraft 3 goodie bag, while stocks last.

 

Online Auction

The second auction will be held online at StarHub Internet’s official WarCraft 3 Asian website located at http://gaming.starhub.net.sg/warcraft3/warcraft.htm. This auction starts on 8 July 2002. Online bidding is open to both StarHub and non-StarHub users. Apart from the online auction, the website will feature game news, interviews with the game developers, reviews from Warcraft 3 fans, game information, movie trailers, MP3 music downloads, game strategies as well as a forum for fans of the game to interact. There will also be contests where gamers can win premium items such as T-shirts, caps, posters and computer tops.
