StarHub Introduces Singapore's First-Ever FREE Monthly Subscription for Business Fixed Lines

Singapore, 20 November 2001- StarHub, Singapore’s innovative info-communications provider, today announced that for the first time in Singapore, business customers can now enjoy free monthly subscription till 31 December 2002 for every StarHub fixed line that they subscribe to. All customers who sign up for this service before 31 December 2001 will only have to pay for what they use in the next 12 months.

The telephone line will be equipped with five value-added services - Caller ID, Voicemail with Message Wait Indicator, Outgoing Call Barring, Advice of Duration and Automatic Call-Back. The monthly fee for these value-added services will be waived for the first three months of the subscription year. Subsequently, each service will be offered at S$2 per month per line. In addition, StarHub will be offering one free Alcatel telephone (worth S$88) per line.

With no monthly subscriptions for an entire year, customers can easily and cost-effectively install additional lines for their phone, fax, and electronic draft-catcher terminals. To be eligible for the programme, the applicant must be a company or partnership registered with the Registry of Companies and Business in Singapore.

This programme is available to over 580 buildings wired into StarHub’s network. As per market practice, there is a one-time installation charge of S$50 per line, payable upon registration. An additional one-time charge of S$40 per line is applicable for internal wiring, if needed.
