StarHub Celebrates First Anniversary with Offers Galore

New and Existing Customers To Enjoy A Month Full of Special Promotions!

 

Singapore, 30 March 2001 -- With the first anniversary at its doorstep, StarHub continues to rewrite the rules of the game by introducing yet more tantalising offers to benefit all existing and new customers. The palate of "goodies" will include an aggressive mobile retail promotion tipped to be the most exciting mobile offer to date! Consumers will be able to purchase a mobile phone of their choice (based on the phone models shown in SingTel’s and M1’s advertisements*) from StarHub at a more attractive price and package!

 

But that’s not all, StarHub customers will also receive a $50 Robinson voucher upon purchasing the mobile phone package, and all incoming calls are FREE until the end of March 2004. The attractive price and mobile handset package is available to customers who register for a StarHub mobile plan between 31 March to 6 April 2001. Customers can sign up for this promotion at any StarHub shop (located at StarHub Centre, OUB Centre and Tampines Mall) or selected preferred partners.

 

In addition to the mobile retail promotion, customers will also enjoy a whole suite of anniversary "goodies", some of which have already started since early March. StarHub started the ball rolling with its IDD 008 offer for mobile customers (between 7 – 23 March 2001), with a special all day low rate of $0.18 per minute to five frequently called destinations, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and USA. Subsequently, on 24 March 2001, an all-day special $0.08 per minute rate was offered to the same five destinations for all StarHub IDD 008 customers**, this promotion is currently running for a two week period starting from 24 March to 8 April 2001.

No one else in Singapore has ever offered such a promotion before – it is definitely a breath of fresh air for consumers and is sure to whet the appetites of those shopping for a new mobile phone! Throughout our first year, we have constantly challenged the norm, by bringing to market promotions and pricing plans that push the boundaries of conventional offers. In 2001, customers can look forward to even more offerings as we continue to introduce new products and services to the market."

 

As part of its anniversary celebrations, new and existing customers can also look forward to the following promotions for the month of April 2001:

  • Any customer who signs up for StarHub Internet’s Infinity or Infinity Family Access plan (both valued at $19.95 per month) for a minimum of 6 months will get $50 off any mobile phone promotion at the three StarHub shops (located at StarHub Centre, OUB Centre and Tampines Mall). This offer will be extended to the first 500 StarHub Internet Infinity or Infinity Family Access plan subscribers.
  • From 9 April - 16 April 2001, all customers will enjoy 10-minutes worth of FREE local calls (to a fixed 7-digit line or mobile number) or when they access SPInS*** simply by using StarHub payphones. For local calls, the user will need to insert either a StarHub payphone card, NETS CashCard, a credit card or a 10-cent coin (for coin-operated payphones). To access SPInS, the user needs to insert either a StarHub payphone card or a NETS CashCard. No deductions will be made for the first 10 minutes. After that, local calls are charged at 10 cents every three minutes, whilst SPInS calls are charged at 10 cents every two minutes.

However it will not be applicable to SingTel or M1 prepaid mobile customers

It boasts a Quick Guide and Quick information service offering access to a variety of contents including ‘Hotel Guide’, ‘Shopping Guide’, ‘Financial Service’, ‘Disco and Pub’ as well as Cinema and movie listings for users on the go.

 

With the recent introduction of lifestyle based contents, users will now be able to search for listings of businesses that offer billiard, bowling, archery, spa/massage, dancing and water sports services. In addition, the Call Through Connect function provides a direct dial-up feature for users to call merchants of their choice directly once they have located them via the Quick Guide section.
