Singapore, 14 June 2001 -- The StarHub Lightship has landed at CommunicAsia 2001 (CA 2001)! All 39 by14 metres of it. Well, … not quite. Instead, what visitors to CA 2001 at Singapore Expo will find at the StarHub booth (Hall 5, 5L2-07) is a scaled-down version of the original - a three-dimensional fabric balloon hung as the main tower for the booth structure.
Lots of greenery will be placed around the Lightship to create the impression that visitors are at the StarHub mooring site at Marina South. Furthermore, windmills will be placed within the single-leveled, 210 square metre booth to enhance the illusion of a wide open space; creating a world of endless possibilities that StarHub's business solutions are able to address.
Said Ms Patricia Sharma, Assistant Vice-President, Corporate Marketing, StarHub, "The StarHub Lightship was launched last August and has been seen over the Singapore skyline by thousands of Singaporeans. Over time, the Lightship has become an icon for StarHub, the leading info-communications provider. This Lightship-inspired booth concept will definitely generate instant brand recognition for us."
Visitors to the four-day exhibition will be able to view StarHub's innovative broadband, mobile data and wireless communications solutions. The info-communications company will be demonstrating a wide suite of business solutions ranging from Global Managed Network Solutions to General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) to broadband IP network to e-business solutions. (Please see attached annex for more details). Leading the charge will be StarHub Internet's innovative suite of offerings.
StarHub Internet
As the official Internet Service Provider of CA 2001, StarHub Internet will be providing a host of fixed and wireless broadband Internet access connections for all exhibitors of this prestigious trade show.
StarHub Internet also recently announced the launch of their new e-business initiative called 'StarBiz'. StarBiz is Asia's first Application Service Provider aggregation portal to help businesses effectively manage and access their information and IT needs. It serves as an enterprise application delivery platform providing a single interface for corporate users to access premium contents, third party applications and business exchanges via a single sign-on.

Launched recently by StarHub Internet, StarBiz is Asia's first Application Service Provider aggregation portal and will be presented for the very first time at the StarHub booth. StarBiz is a strategic initiative to help businesses effectively manage and access their information and IT needs and access premium content, third party applications and business exchanges via a single sign on.
StarHub Internet will be available at the StarHub booth to present StarBiz and answer any questions about this new exciting business solution, which is aimed particularly at SMEs grappling with the challenges and difficulties of dealing with complex IT and ASP issues.
IP-VPN

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS)
StarHub's GPRS service is a mobile data service that allows the access or transfer of information over a mobile phone network easily, quickly and cost-effectively. The 'always on' feature provides faster data access and continuous online connectivity. With user-friendly data (packet-based) pricing, customers need only pay for what they send or receive and not for the connection time.
Consumers can also enjoy instant and seamless information sharing between GPRS mobile phones and mobile devices like PDAs and laptops through Bluetooth, via infrared or serial cable connection. Unified Messaging Service (UMS)
StarHub's UMS is also known as Power Mail. It is an integrated messaging service that empowers the way the consumer communicates. All messages from voice, fax or e-mail can be directed into one single mailbox and be easily accessed via a variety of devices. This includes fixed line devices, mobile devices, personal computer or PDA from any location in the world.
Power Mail also provides the convenience of notifying the user of new messages via the user's mobile phone, fixed line devices or pager.
