StarHub Simplifies IDD Charges And Offers Better Value With Discounts Up To 60% From Mid-May 2000
All Residential, Business and Mobile Customers Will Benefit
Singapore, 26 April 2000 -- StarHub, Singapore’s new info-communication player, announced today that it has introduced simplified international call charges for IDD 008. StarHub will offer from 15 May 2000, one flat rate per international destination, 24 hours per day, every day. This new pricing structure eliminates traditional 3 zone charges (day/night/weekend) offered by other operators.
Peter Kaliaropoulos, StarHub’s Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations, said. "Customers are always seeking better value and convenience when using international services. We have removed complex pricing structures and introduced a competitive flat rate per destination, 24 hours per day, to satisfy their requirements. They will simply dial, talk and pay one rate on a per second basis for a quality IDD 008 call".
Subject to IDA approval, StarHub will also introduce up to 60% off its current published base rates for international calls to the top 25 international destinations. For example a IDD 008 call to the USA or Canada will cost $0.37 per minute, a call to Hong Kong, $0.66 per minute, calls to the UK and Australia will be billed at $0.56 and $0.57 respectively, throughout the entire day.
StarHub continues to challenge the norm through ongoing innovation, offering greater value, convenience and high quality international services. Keeping in frequent contact with loved ones and business partners overseas with IDD 008 has now been made easier and more affordable for all in Singapore.
Specific rates per destination will be published on 15 May 2000.
