Requirements – StarHub TV Online

1. StarHub TV Online On Demand

To download videos from StarHub TV Online On Demand, you need the following:

  • A Windows PC with the following configuration:
Operating System Windows XP
Processor A 500 MHz processor or faster
RAM 256 MB
Sound Card Compatible 5.1 multichannel audio sound card (for example, Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 or Sound Blaster Audigy; Echo Audio Layla24 or Mona; or M-Audio Delta 1010, Delta 1010-LT, or Delta 410).
Video Adapter and Monitor Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution
Software Software Windows Media Player 9 and above. Windows Media Player is able to play the WMV files that have been protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM) encryption.

Internet Browser Internet Explorer 6 and above
  • A MaxOnline connection
  • StarHub TV Online On Demand Download Manager
  • A Hub ID account to download any videos for rental on StarHub TV Online On Demand, you need to log in with your ;Play user account or Hub ID user account.
  • A credit card for payment.

2. StarHub TV Online Channels

To enjoy the full benefits of StarHub TV Online Channels, the following is recommended:

A broadband connection with MaxOnline Ultimate, MaxOnline Premium or MaxOnline Express

Direct Connection:
Simply click on the "Launch StarHub TV Online Channels" button on the left navigation bar and you can enjoy StarHub TV Online Channels now.

Router Connection:
StarHub's technical support is only available for issues relating to MaxOnline connection with Motorola SBG1000 cable modem gateway or Linksys Wireless-B router or D-Link DIR-615/655. If you are using other routers besides these, kindly check with the manufacturer of your router regarding their support for Internet Protocol (IP) Multicast standard that is used in StarHub TV Online Channels.

If your router does not support this standard, you can still watch StarHub TV Online Channels by connecting your computer directly to your cable modem.

For Motorola SBG1000 cable modem gateway users

Kindly note that a “Low” firewall setting is recommended when you are connected to MaxOnline, using the Motorola SBG1000 cable modem gateway.

To configure the firewall settings for Motorola SBG1000 cable modem gateway:
1. Launch the web browser from the computer that is connected to the Motorola SBG1000 cable modem gateway.

2. Type in the IP address <http://192.168.100.1> on the address bar of the web browser and press “Enter”.

3. Login to the admin page of the SBG1000. The default User ID is <admin> and password is <motorola>.

4. After you have logged in, click on the “Firewall” option on the left side of the page.

5. Under the “Policy” tab, select “Low” firewall option and click on “Apply” to save the setting.

For Linksys Wireless-B router users

If you’re using Linksys BEFW11S4 ver.4 router, check that the firmware is version 1.50.10 (or higher) before connecting to StarHub TV Online Channels.

Download or upgrade your equipment firmware and follow the steps below.

1. In the configuration menu, under menu <Security> submenu <Filter>, check that <Filter Multicast> is set to “Disabled”.

2. If you are still unable to connect to StarHub TV Online Channels after upgrading the firmware, you may need to refer to Linksys support centre for assistance.

For D-Link DIR-615/655 router users

If you’re using D-Link DIR-615/655 router, check that the firmware is as below before connecting to StarHub TV Online Channels

1. for DIR-655: v1.11SH and above
2. for DIR-615: v2.23SH and above

Download or upgrade your equipment firmware, and follow the steps below.

3. In the configuration menu, under menu <Advanced> submenu <Advanced Network> , check that <Enable Multicast Streams> is ticked.

4. If you are still unable to connect to StarHub TV Online Channels after upgrading the firmware, you may need to refer to D-Link support centre for assistance.

Please note: MAC OS 7.6.1 does not support Windows Media Player. Please refer to Apple for an OS upgrade before subscribing to StarHub TV Online Channels.
