  1. What is StarHub Internet TV?

    StarHub Internet TV is an Online video streaming service. This service will offer legal video streaming  of StarHub  TV Channels and Video  to supported internet browser.

  2. How can I sign up this service?

    During the Beta Launch, StarHub Internet TV service is available for trial to 5,000 selected StarHub subscribvers via invitation only.   With the invitation, StarHub subscribers can log in to the beta service at  http://tv.starhub.com  with a valid Hub ID.

  1. Is there any limitation on the number of service sign up during beta launch?

    Yes, during beta, only the first 5000 invited user will be able to sign up for service.

  2. How can I sign up the Internet TV service after the beta launch?

    After the beta period, user can sign up to internet TV service by accessing the http://tv.starhub.com with Hub ID. However, the free viewing of linear channels will not be available.

  3. How long is the beta period?

    The beta launch is a trial opened to 5,000 selected StarHub subscribers and it will be valid till 31 December 2011.

  4. What if I don’t have a Hub ID?

    You can register for a Hub ID by clicking on the “Register” link provided on Internet TV portal.
    Click “Register “to sign up the Hub ID.

  1. What do I need to register for a Hub ID?

    Please prepare the following information for the registration process:
    - Your StarHub Account Number
    - A username of your choice
    - NRIC number
    - A valid email address
    - An alphanumeric password of at least 8 characters

  2. What are the benefits of subscribing to this Beta service?

    During the beta launch, the 5,000 selected subscribers can enjoy free viewing of selected TV channels with a valid hub ID login. Users can also purchase the Video on demand titles via Singapore issued Credit/Debit card payment (VISA, MasterCard).

  3. Can I access Internet TV if I am using other broadband internet access?

    Yes, you can access with any local broadband internet access.

  4. Can I access Internet TV while I am overseas?

    No, the service is only available within Singapore.

  5. Do I need to download the video to view from Internet TV?

    Currently, Internet TV service is the video streaming service through PC/Mac internet browser. No download of video.

  6. I don't live in Singapore. Can I purchase/ Stream the videos from Internet TV?

    StarHub Internet service is only available for Singapore Internet users.

  7. Is there a subscription fee or any other additional charges to stream the videos on Internet TV?

    During beta launch, TV channels on Internet TV portal free. So, there are no other additional charges for linear channels. But, Video on demand titles can be purchase using credit card or debit card.

  8. How different is StarHub Internet TV to StarHub TV Online?

    StarHub TV online required our customers to use MaxOnline modem to download the Video on demand content and linear channels, while StarHub Internet TV allows our customers to stream StarHub TV Channels and Videos via any local broadband connection.

  9. What are the requirements to view StarHub Internet TV?

    All you need is the following

    • A valid Hub ID
    • PC/Mac with Internet Browser (Safari, Mozilla, Chrome or IE)
    • Broad band connection of at least 8 Mb

  1. What are the StarHub Internet TV Channels available at Beta?

    There are THREE channels available on StarHub Internet TV
    • Fashion Tv,
    • NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL
    • NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ADVENTURER

  2. Why were the above THREE channels selected for StarHub Internet TV Channels?

    We have selected channels with generally light and short programmes for easy viewing as most online users habitually log on and access multiple Internet applications simultaneously. Few programmes are serialised so they do not require continuity in viewing.

  3. Will there be any changes to the channel line-up?

    We are constantly reviewing the channel line-up on Internet TV Channels to further enhance our customers' viewing pleasure. However, please be assured that you will be notified prior to any changes to the channel line-up.

  4. What are the benefits of registering for StarHub Internet TV Beta?

    With StarHub Internet TV Channels, you will be able to enjoy Broadcast quality TV programmes via StarHub Internet broadband without a television or cable TV subscription.

  5. How do I purchase for the videos on StarHub Internet TV portal?

    You can purchase via Singapore registered credit / debit cards (Visa and Master only).

  6. Is there a subscription fee or any other additional charges to view videos on StarHub Internet TV?

    There's no subscription fee or additional charges for viewing StarHub TV Channels at beta. You only need to pay for the rental of the video on demand.

  7. Are there any trailers on StarHub Internet TV before I decide to purchase any videos?

    Yes, there are trailers for most of the videos which you can preview before purchasing for any videos

  8. How do I pay using credit card online?

    After you have selected your mode of payment, you will be directed to a secured page where you have to enter your 16-digit credit card number and card expiry date. Upon submission of your details, you will see a confirmation page with your payment status.

  9. Is it safe to pay for videos on StarHub Internet TV?

    Our payment gateway adheres to strict security procedures for the storage of information and the prevention of unauthorised access.

  10. Are the prices inclusive of Goods & Services Tax?

    All the prices quoted are inclusive of GST.

  11. Can I return a video?

    Once you have purchase a video, no refund or exchanges will be entertained.

Usage Rights

  1. What are usage rights for videos?

    Usage rights refer to rights pertaining to how the video can be used. Every video comes with usage entitlements and the rights vary accordingly.

  2. What are the usage rights for the videos on StarHub Internet TV?

    The usage rights for rental of videos consist of a 24-hour or 48-hour viewing period and expiry date.

  3. What is 24-hour viewing period?

    All videos only have a limited 24-hour or 48-hour viewing period. The time begins when video starts purchased and you can watch unlimited playback within the next 24 hour or 48-hour. After the stipulated viewing period, you cannot play the video any more.

To fully enjoy the stipulated viewing period, please ensure that the expiry date does not fall within this period.

  1. What is expiry date?

    All videos have an expiry date. You can purchase the video till the expiry date. You can choose when to stream the video but it must be streamed before the expiry date. Please note that the 24-hour or 48-hour viewing period must be utilized by expiry date. The purchased video cannot be viewed (even if you have never played it) after the expiry date.

  2. What if I have less than 2 hours before the expiry date and I start watching the video which is more than 2-hour long?

    E.g. If you purchased a 120-minute video on 1st Jan at 12 noon and it comes with a 24-hour viewing period with 30-day expiry on 31st Jan at 12 noon, in order for you to enjoy the full 24-hour viewing period, please ensure you start watching the video at least 24-hour before expiry date.
    If you start to watch it at 11 am on 31st Jan, you will be able to complete the video which will end by 1 pm even though the expiry date is at 12 noon but if you stop the video during this period, you will not be able to play the video again as it would have expired.

End User License Agreement

    StarHub Internet TV portal is a service provided by StarHub Ltd. Video Streaming from StarHub Internet TV portal is only available for sales in Singapore.

  2. Sales To End Users Only

    StarHub Internet TV sells Products to end user customers for personal and non-commercial use only. Resale or commercial exploitation of the Products without the prior written consent of StarHub is strictly prohibited.

  3. Refund Policy

    All sales are non-refundable.

  4. Payment Methods

    StarHub Internet TV portal accepts payment by Visa or MasterCard credit only. If a credit card is being used for payment, StarHub will obtain a pre-approval from the credit card company for the amount of the order. Billing to your credit card shall occur at the time of purchase.

    The Products are solely for individual, personal and non-commercial use.

    You agree that you will not attempt to, or encourage or assist any other person to, circumvent or modify any software required for use of the Products or any of the Usage Rules.

    You are not granted any commercial, sale, resale, reproduction, distribution or promotional use rights in the Products.

      Note: For optimal viewing quality of cable TV programmes on StarHub Internet TV service, we recommend that the computer be connected directly to the Ethernet interface.
      The following network interfaces may yield less consistent video delivery quality due to contending usage of localised resources within a given household:

    • USB (Universal Serial Bus), as other active/busy devices (for example, USB printer or memory card reader) connected to the computer or an USB hub will typically consume additional computing resources that will in turn affect StarHub Internet TV  Channels's video traffic that is delivered through the same interface.
    • Wi-Fi as other WiFi users connected within the same household may consume additional bandwidth and resources from the home network infrastructure.

    1. How do I start to view the programmes on StarHub internet TV?

      1. Connect the  PC/Mac with StarHub internet connection
      2. Access to http://tv.starhub.com
      3. Click “Login” hyperlink and login with valid Hub ID
      4. Click on “TV Channels” hyperlink to access the TV channels

    2. I have a few computers linked to a home network; can my family and I access StarHub Internet TV Channels simultaneously?

      Yes, based on a single Hub ID account per computer.

    3. Can I access StarHub Internet TV from a wireless modem connection?

      Yes, however, as there are a variety of ways to set up a wireless home network, StarHub is unable to guarantee that all setups work flawlessly with StarHub Internet TV
