- What is the Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access on the HubStation?
As the HubStation comes with an inbuilt cable modem, StarHub is offering free internet access for all HubStation users till 31 December 2012.
The Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access offers you download speeds of up to 1Mbps and upload speeds of up to 256Kbps. These network speeds are ideal for light to moderate casual surfing.
- How different is this free service from MaxOnline and MaxInfinity post paid plans?
HubStation users will get to enjoy the Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access till 31 December 2012. Our MaxOnline and MaxInfinity post paid plans are geared towards customers who require high-speed broadband. For more information on our MaxOnline and MaxInfinity post paid plans, click here.
- I am a HubStation user with Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access. Can I subscribe to MaxOnline Value Added Services such as i.View and SafeSurf?
No, MaxOnline Value Added Services such as i.View and SafeSurf are not available for subscription to these group of users.
- Can I use the Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access for internet surfing via TV? If not, why is this so?
No, internet surfing via TV is not available. This is because most websites are designed for PCs and do not translate well.
- Can I connect a wireless router to the HubStation? Is there a limit to the number of connections I can have for this free service?
Yes, you can. As the HubStation has an ethernet connection, you can connect a wired or wireless router to this port. There are no limits to the number of connections to the free internet access. However, 1Mbps may not be optimal for several PCs connected with moderate to heavy concurrent internet activities.
- Do you provide technical support for Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access?

- What is the installation charge to set up a PC with the HubStation?
The installation charge for normal PC or Notebooks connectivity is $53.50 (with 7% GST) per computer connection to HubStation.
- Will the Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access customers enjoy higher download speed in velocity websites?
No, HubStation users will not enjoy higher download speed in velocity websites.
- Can I use Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access when HubStation is on standby mode?
Yes, you can use the Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access when the HubStation is on standby mode.
- Can I surf the Internet, watch or record programmes, and use Digital Voice Home at the same time? Will it affect the internet speed, TV video and audio quality?
Accessing the internet and watching/recording programmes at the same time will not affect the TV video and audio quality. However, concurrent usage of Digital Voice Home and internet surfing may compromise the sound quality, depending on volume of data traffic.
- I have a spare cable modem, can I transfer the free 1000Kbps service to the spare cable modem?
No, you cannot transfer the free service to the cable modem. The HubStation's functionality is not available for standalone cable modems.
- Will I be able to access ;Play radio via HubStation's Free 1Mbps Broadband Internet Access?
MaxOnline Value Added Services are not available for subscription to the HubStation users. If you wish to take up any of the VASes that StarHub offers, you will first have to sign up for a MaxOnline plan.
- How do I access the internet with HubStation?
You can connect your PC to the ethernet port at the rear of the HubStation using a UTP cable. For more details on the connection, please refer to the connection diagrams provided in the HubStation user guide.
